Kimber, I'm sorry to hear you'e in pain from doing to much. Perhaps a long soak in a hot bath would help you...it might relax you enough to get some relief. Perhaps even a nap if you can manage one!

Gentle hugs, and know that I'm thinking of you today!

It's so hard when we overdo it, isn't it? I do that all the time...way too much! I hope that your pain goes down and that you can rest today. Baths do help me when I'm really bad.

Kimber, I know the feeling, as I have done it too! You will feel like your on the mend, and then push it a little too much, and then you find yourself two steps back.

Take it east, and you will get there.

I am also sorry to hear that you are hurting today. I knew at the end of yesterday that I, too, had overdone it. A hot bath with some Japanese Mint Oil did help to soothe the pain in my back, and I was able to get some rest, and some relief. I do hope you are able to get some rest, and relief to day as well.

Take care of yourself today.

I am sorry, too, that you are having extra pain today! I had one of those days yesterday and am paying for it through the night and this morning, too.

Take care, Kimber, and try to rest...

Butterfly, what is Japanese Mint Oil? Where do you find it, and how does it help?

Kimber,
Try to remember that you're really still fresh from surgery. I know sometimes we think a week or two should be enough to heal, but like I said to you before that gall bladder is deep inside so a lot of organs got "readjusted" and you have many internal sutures still healing. So do be kind to yourself, and try to give it more time.

Take care,

PaLady

Hi, Pam.
Japanese Mint oil is just something I found at the health food store, and is just straight mint oil without any other additives.  It is quite potent, but very soothing.  I will sometimes add a few drops to my bath water, or I will apply it directly to any area of my body that is hurting.  It has a quick, and cooling effect.  A bottle of it will last a long time, and is relatively inexpensive, at around $20 (CAN).
You will not want to apply it if you are on your way out, as you will smell like a candy cane.  The smell is not medicinal, though, like some of the creams you might find at a pharmacy.  It actually smells nice, if you like the smell of mint.
I highly recommend giving it a try, as I always find it helpful.

Hope you were able to rest some today...We all have those days where we overdo....I have learned to plan in the 'down days' after I have my active days....that's when I get to catch up on my computer stuff and all my shows on the DVR:)...

Gosh..I remember when I had my appendix out in my early 20's and I had no other issues with my healh..and 4 days later I was at the beach playing beach vollyeball with my friends!!! I could NEVER do that now!!! Ahhh...to be young and stupid and healthy again!!! HAHAHA...

Now I stub my toe and it puts me over the edge for pain!!!

As others said..just take it one day at a time and give your body the rest it needs...but maybe some light stretching as I noticed on your other post about the back pain....so to keep other areas from getting sore..

Hope tomorrow is even better for you:)

Hi everyone, I over did it this past weekend. I helped with the laundry and other things. Now my stomach is swelled, muscle pain and incision pain. Is this normal if you over do it while you are recovering ? I helped hubby he was fine in helping for the first week and I think know he wishes I could do more . I am just wondering if this is normal or should I call the surgeon office? I dont really want to bug them if its just normal healing pain? I have to try to vacum today. I hope everyone has a lpd. Tommorrow I will be 3 weeks post op from lap chole.

Ok I called the dr and he is in surgery. I got pretty much yelled at by the nurse saying I did way too much to soon. She said listen to your body and stop. She said she will let him know and will call me back. I hope he dont want me to come in.
