Hey everyone!!!!!! I feel like I've been away for ever.  It's really been a mad house since November 2009 between hubby and me.  He had a seziure (first and I hope the last) then back in the hospital for low mag. and pot. then gallbladder removed, now liver counts are high.... I'm about at my wits in with him, then tomorrow I'm going in for a nerve block which I'm starting to get scared to death over.  I've never had one before and I'm starting to second guess my self and the doctor.  I keep hearing from people ohh it wont work, only worked 1 hour for me or 3 months for me.  I'm to the point 1 hour without pain is worth it, but dang.... I hope to God it last longer than that.  Now LOL bless her heart, my boss just told me her daughter has cortizone (sp) shots for her neck and they do not put her to sleep and from the look on her face it hurts like HELL...... My toe nails are scared LOL.... My questions to everyone one who's had it can you tell me the pros and cons to it.  I'm gonna do it... the pain meds are still working... sort of... but I'd love to have one hour or one day with NO PAIN.. it's been soooo long since I've not hurt, it just would be nice.   Thanks for listening to me ramble... I'm gonna start coming back more often, I'm hoping it will start slowing down not only here at work but at the house too... I'm about to lose what little mind I have.  Hubby is having more and more problems and has a hard way of dealing with things so it just puts more on me, and I'm not one who goes and asks for help, but I do believe his Dad will have to start getting more involved.  My sugars have been up "high" for about 2 weeks now and they finally started coming back to my normal levels this weekend...I dont really think they are high for most people but for me I think they are, I run 80-100 and they've been 101-110.. LOL yea yea I know thats not high but I dont like for them to be over 100.  Well, again thanks for listening to me ramble...

Hey everyone, sorry took me so long to reply, yesterday was a butt here at the office trying to catch up.  Doesn't do me any good to take time off LOL... Had the block Tuesday and was scared to death before, but it really wasn't that bad.  The worse part was getting a needle in my veins.  I hate needles and my veins RUN when I hear I'm getting an IV or something LOL.. yea I know big chicken (hehehehe).  The block took about 10 minutes and it seems to be working. (crossing fingers and toes it keeps working) I didn't have to take anything until late last nite, which is really really good for me.  I'm normally taking something every 4 to 6 hours on a good day.  My back is ....well hurting isn't the word to use.  It's sort of like,..... ya know when you pull something and when its healing it seems to be tight? well thats how my back feels, tight and sore maybe is the word, but the pain isn't as intense.  I'm just crossing my fingers it last for a few months, that would be just WONDERFUL.  Thanks for all the well wishes and I'm gonna do my best to start getting back more often, just hope work will let me LOL....they act like I should be working instead of playing... huh.. ever heard of such LOL....

Thanks again,

Trouble :-)

Trouble, did your doctor instruct you to apply a cold pack to the injection site? This usually helps with any swelling or pain issues. Hope you get good results from the injection!!!

   Dear Trouble,

Good morning *hugg* it is so good to hear from you. I hope you can get extended family to help out. You have alot on your plate and from the sounds of thing it is getting fuller and fuller.

I have injections series done on a regular basis (Epi cortisteroids). Sometimes, the doctors do a "test" run, too see if it help or only inject a small about of medicine the first time around to make sure it works. Then wait a month or so and do a full injection (or series) in area(s) most needed. I have reach my max recently and frustraited to no end about it. With all the pain control menthods "working" I get down to about an about an 8. Which is good and I try to not complain about it.

Anycase, hopefully you will feel the full effects of the steroids in the comming days. It usually take me 4 to 6 days to feel the full extent of the relief from the steroids.

I do hope you can find a few moments to rest today. You are in our hearts here

*hugg*
