Sorry in advance....this is just a vent.

I'm hurting in so many places! Not just in my lower back, which is usually the worst, but in my knees, my calves, my wrists, my ribcage, my neck.....where don't I hurt!?!? I couldn't go to sleep for the longest time last night; probably went out about 2am......then I woke up at 5am. I did manage to force myself back to sleep for another hour or so, but am absolutely exhausted!

This has been going on for more than a week now....and seems to be getting worse. I don't understand all this pain.....I don't know if my fibro is out of control, or if the knee and wrist pain is due to the doxycycline I'm taking for the Lyme disease (doxy is notorious for causing joint pain), or if it's my RA, my lupus, or all of the above!

The Dilaudid takes the edge off but doesn't really deal with it. sad

OK...I'm done venting now.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain.  ((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))  I hope that you feel better really soon.  Maybe you should call your dr. and tell them that you're hurting badly.  They could probably help you.

Thank you Kimber and Loretta....I probably should email my rheumatologist about this, I just worry that he will start thinking that I'm a pill junky. :(

((((((((((hugs))))))))))) to both of you!

P.S. I used my Tens machine for a long while this morning on my left knee, which was just killing me, and it seems to have helped a lot!

Hi Loretta:

I'm sorry you are hurting so much. I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I would let the doctor know how bad you are feeling. I know many of us worry about being labeled as "pill seekers", but I think most PM's have enough experience that they can tell the difference between someone who is in genuine pain, and the people who are just looking for a fix.

Hang in there,

Lorie

Hi Nasalady,

Sorry to hear about the extra pain lately...but happy to hear that your tens unit seemed to help so that is good news! I think we can forget about using all the treatments we have available at times in addition to our medication..

But certainly it's ok to call the Dr. when needed for assistance as to what they want to do as Lorie has said..

Just wanted to say that I am sending some hugs your way and hope that you can rest up tonight and feel a little better tomorrow...

   Dear Jo Ann,

Good evening *hugg* I am sorry you are in so much pain right now. I am also sorry your medicine is causing so many uncomfortable side effects. That has got to be frustraiting! Do you have a BT med? Hopefully your doctor will respond and get you something a bit stronger. I am glad you have a tens unit to help. I love mine, but I have to have it "reset" by the manufacturer soon.

I hope you can relax somewhat. You are in our hearts and prayers

*hugg*

Dear flower, skeye and Dani, thank you all for your supportive replies! I really appreciate the hugs and prayers! The tens unit did help a lot with the knee pain...

Dani, I actually don't have a BT medication; I'm starting to realize that I probably need a PM doctor instead of relying on my rheumatologist for pain meds. But I really hate looking for new doctors. sad

I'm also having a lot of vision problems (double vision and blurry vision) which are unexplained; my new glasses were supposed to help, but they don't. I get sick headaches and can't even look at the computer screen....that happened today and I had to finally take a short nap to get rid of the headache.

I think I'm going to have to see a neuro-ophthalmologist too! Darn!

I'm SO tired of doctors! I'm so tired of being sick, and having 30 or 40 different things wrong with me!!

Uh, oh! I guess that was another vent.....sorry.

I know that many of you understand exactly where I'm coming from. Thank you all for your kindness and compassion! I'm really glad I have this forum to come to.....I need you guys!

Hi JoAnn,

I'm sorry it's been such a crappy day for you. I totally understand when you say that everything hurts. I've had those days when the pain is from toenails to tresses and everything in between. I think you've been given lots of great ideas so far - I guess what I would like to add is that you really should have a primary doctor to take care of your meds for you.

I have a pain management team, but my family doctor prescribes all my meds. It's easier to have one person do it and my family dr. keeps everyone up to date on meds and dosages. It makes it easier to talk to her as well when I need to make changes.

I hope you're feeling better tonight...perhaps a soak in the tub might help? I will be sending good sleepy thoughts your way for a good night's rest...we ALL know how valuable that is for feeling better!!

Gentle hugs,
Pam

I have tried to get my primary care doctor to do this, actually, but she says that she would rather have the various "experts" prescribe their own meds....I don't know why, because I think it's a great idea!

NA,my pcp will treat my other ilnesses plus my insomnia . But he wont treat my back pain . He did when I first started to go to him 3 years ago . But all of sudden he told all his patients he dont prescribe narcotics . He now dont prescribe anything stronger than 800 mg of ibuprofren . He told me that he will prescribe me 800 mg of Ibuprofren . But,if I feel I need anything stronger he would refer me to a pain dr. He has seen all my test results as how bad my back is messed up . so I understand . I seen a pm for 2 years but had to stop because I lost insurance. Now I have insurance dont know if I want to go back that route again . I have been seiously thinking about it . well anyways I understand that you dont want to add more drs in the mix. ((((((hugs))))))) I hope you feel better today. I am sorry if I hijacked your post.
