Hellow all!
I'm going to see my young pain lady doc at 10:00am. I saw her for the first time 3 weeks ago and she made me sign one of those contracts to do everything she asks of me. Well I haven't and I sure hope she doesn't send me packing cause I kinda like her!! She wanted me to get my neck MRI'ed to see how the fusion healed before this apt. and I didn't. I'm going to have to try to explain why I didn't and grovel for her mersky! "Lord have mersky, I just cain't do it by mysef!!!" No, it's a $$$$$ thing! I had that procedure done last week when they scoped my blatter and now I'm going to have to call back my Eye doc who took that lungy thing off my eye last Jan. The din-dang **^^%()#@!!! thing is growing back! There is a black spot growing right on the edge of the color part and the white of my eye, right where he had cut and stitched!! Thats the same way it started last time!!! More time & $$$$$!!!!! I also HAVE to get someone to look at my achillese tendon soon as it's getting worse all the time! I hope she understands that I only have a limitted amout of $ due to social security and their bs and stalling!!! I have health problem priorities and right now the stinking MRI is not at the top of the list!!! I did request medical & surgical reports from my old drs & neuro surgeon that she asked me to and also brought by copies of old MRI reports for my file. I've also bit the bullet and bought the high $$$ prescriptions she asked me to start. So we'll just have to hope she understands!!!

Yep, I did it again> went fishin yesterday w/ this guy I met online. He had a super nice boat parked behind his house right on a river that goes into the Gulf of Mexico. Heck of a nice guy and a good fisherman very knowlagable about the area here. I'm fairly new to the area and even though I concider myself a pretty good fisherman, knowing where to fish in such a large area is a big part of the battle! I learned a lot and caught some bruzer fish too! The only problem was this dude likes to go fast! Now I'm paying the price as usual! Can't walk very well and can hardly turn my head at all because of neck pain. My hands are swollen like balloons and my ruptured achillese tendon looks like the humps on a camels back! I was so shot when I got home I was in bed by 9:00pm and slept till 4:30am getting up only 4 times to pee! A new record! My Uro also gave me some samples of some pills to try, maybe they are working???

Wish me luck and I'll let y'all know how I make out later!!!

Your sore buddy,

Pete!

PS> Chart & Mikey, no sharks yet! They don't show up here for another month or so. I'd gladly get you some teeth but the sharks I kill for the table are very small, 2'~3'! I catch bigger ones but I don't even bring them in the boat! I ain't that dumb! The teeth on these little fellows are tiny, even smaller than on some other fish I catch but if you still want them, I'll save some when the sharks get here!!

  Dear Pete,

Goood morning! *warm huggs* I am glad you stopped by :-)  You will have to be sure to tell us how your appointment goes today. I think it is awesome you finally found a good doctor AND one you like. I hope she is forgiving about the MRI. More so, I hope the appointment goes well. Aslo, be sure to ask if she knows of discounts or coupons for the medicine too.

Okay, so you are going to make appointment with eye doctor, then achillies tendon, then MRI? You should really see someone for the tendon right away. That poor tendeon has been pushed to the back of list for a while now! The thing growing back on your eye is very concerning too. Esp since they wernt sure what it was the first time around!! Can't see, cant walk. For you friend, that will be torture if you get house bound because of either issue.

....Sharks?  shocked  Surley you are kidding right?

...Sharks really? Crocadiles AND Sharks..... And big bugs   skull

This is exactly why I live in the desert!

I do not mean to get personal but what is your wonderful wife's favorite color?

*huggs*

Hey Pete

The fishing sounds like fun! I know you have allot of things you need to get looked at and done medically. But did you ever get a sleep study scheduled? To check you for sleep apnea? I would just about bet that, that getting up and going to the bathroom all night long is caused by sleep apnea. Heck I can't begin to tell you all the pills I was given to cure the nocturia and non of them helped! The urologist even scoped my bladder! It wasn't till I got put on the proper PAP treatment for the sleep apnea, did that getting up all the time during the night cease! Just something else to put on your "to do list!"

Take care of yourself Pete!

Pete, you are such an inspiration. You can hardly walk, have a growth on your eye, can't turn your head, back hurts and you can't sleep all night but have to get up multiple times to go wee wee but you still manage to get out there and tease the fish. Keep those priorities straight is so important. Geeze man take care of yourself. You are in my prayers and will stay in touch.

Hey Everyone, thanks for all your support! I saw my little young Lady Doc this a.m. and it was a good session. She told me that she is also in sports med. and I should not only tell her about my big problems like neck, lumbar spine, hip and knee but any other pains or complaints because they can all be related. I like this girl! I said it's funny you should mention that because>>> my achilles tendon>bla>bla>bla! She looked at it and said, you will NOT have to have surgery on this but it is torn and will need to be rehabbed! The tear has grown scar tissue and swelled up from all my activity like standing and rocking in a boat and wearing shoes that have hight backs that rub on it like my Rebok walking shoes. Then I asked her about my useless left arm and the pain in my elbow. She said that my ulna nerve was very swollen and that I also had tendinitis> (what I figured) She gave me a couple more tubes of Voltaren Jell and told me to use it on both areas. She also prescribed one of those arm band things to wear around my forearm and to ice both areas several times a day which I've already been doing.
I explained about buying all my meds and having procedures and now my eye problem which she looked as and said eeeooooooo>yuk! I told her I just couldn't aford all this stuff at once and she understood but sdaid she still wants an MRI as soon as I can swing it. I came home and fell asleep and forgot to call the dam eye doc!! Gol dang it!!!!!

FJ, thanks for the thoughts and prayers as usual! For years I always said that when I retire I'll fish every day! I never expected myself to end up the way I am so trying to go fishing maybe once a week, even if it takes me 6 days to recover is just the tip of the iceberg of my dream! Besides, someone has to hastle those fish, who better than me??? I still hope you get the chance to come down and sample some of the fine fishin down here w/ me!!! We can moan and whine about pains together after every fish we catch and I have a sharp knife to just cut the line if the fish is too big and starts hurting you too bad!!!

Hang tough my Brother!!!

W.B. yep, you got me there! Thats another biggy on my list!! I sure would love to have my wife sleeping back in bed w/ me again too! (She leaves almost every night cause of the snoring and breathing stoppage!) Thanks for the kick in the butt! I'll move that one right up behind my eye on the list!! There's still too many fish to catch to kick off from something like that which is preventable! I sure hope you are doing OK after all you have been through my friend!!!

Dani, you are so funny!!! Why would I kid you about sharks??? They are only a fish and I fear no fish!!! If you get to come down and want to, I'll take yo out shark fishing if you want but you might like a boat ride in the river 5 minutes from me instead. There are not any croc's but there are plenty of Hollamagators there. They usually just lie up on a bank or the edge of a log and sleep in the sun but sometimes the cruise around on the surface of the water! They CAN'T get into the boat, even the big 12'~14"ers!! Sometimes the babies are a pest and go after my bass lures! I've accidentally caught small ones before! Do you think the girls (Bumblebee's) would enjoy seeing them?? There is loads of other wildlife there too! We always see bald eagles, osprey, hawks (all kinds) herons, egrets, wood storks, sandhill cranes, river otters, coons, armadillas, snakes and tons of cooters (water turtles)> Lots of cool stuff to look at! I'll send you a video of the last time I was over there about a month ago. It was still cool then but I did see one, (gator) 7'-8'er on a sunken tree in the sun. There should be lots over there now w/ the warm temps!! Big hugs for you and your fam's Dani! Thanks for writing!

And last but not least> Mikey!!! Wasup? Are you sure it was your back they opperated on your back and not your brain??? A tumbleweed???? What da #@!()*&^^ do I do w/ a tumble weed?? sure you don't mean Loco weed??? There's something about you midwesterners I haven't figured out yet? I think it might have something to do w/ corn though!!! Maybe thats how they got the expression>> "Corny"??? Just kidding Mike, I always enjoy your posts too!

Again, thanks to everyone for carring! It means the world to me!!

Hugs for all! Time for a "Gang Hug" w/ mikey in the middle!!!

Hi Pete,

Glad to hear that your doctor's appointment went well & that you are still managing to have some fun despite the pain. That is important, although of course we have to be careful not to overdo it.

Fatherjohn is right, you are an inspiration. You have so much going on, yet you don't let it get to you. That's really quite amazing.

hugs,
Skeye

Hey Pete,

You absolutely kill me. I really enjoy reading your adventures....it's WAY better than daytime TV.

It is honestly worth it to get out and spend some quality time on the water. I miss the ocean fishing, but I just got back in the pond after a year. Ok, so I'm a girl (or perhaps an old lady to some) but I still love to fish and to spend the time with my husband on the water. You have GOT to be careful about those speed deamons though! The fishing is worth it, but the pain from the boat is crazy bad. I'm just getting over my own fishing weekend and I didn't do anything like you! You amaze me and honestly help keep things in perspective.

It's good to see you back and having a good time again!

Ha! Ha! Very funny! Ouch! Stop that! :) Good stuff as always Pete!

Hey!... I have the same problem with my elbows, and especially the left one! No smarty pantz comment Pete! :) I did figure something out that will possibly help with it though! Stick a pillow under each arm and elevate your elbows level with your belly.....Oh shoot!.... you cant do that...now can you!...or they would be pointed up towards the ceiling! :) Anyway, give it a try, and I'm willing to bet that your elbow will feel better in the morning. I'm guessing you sleep on your back...right? Well if you do, and your elbows hang down at your side, your putting pressure on that nerve. I also had several cortisone shots in them, and that helped to speed along the process. Give it a try! :)

I have more comments for you, but my finger is tired! BRB!

Hey Pete,

Glad to hear it went well at your PM appt..Now be a good boy and go get that MRI!!!! Also happy to know that your tendon won't need surgery..yea!

Think of it as a fishing trip is the reward each time you finish up with a test or Dr. appt:)

You really do have so much going on health wise..and I know how hard that must be...I truly am glad that you are able to still physically able to go out and enjoy something that you love...that's what makes this crazy roller coaster of pain somewhat tolerable...things we can look forward to...

Sending ya a big hug (( ))

Good morning Healing Well Nation!
Kim, I'm so sorry I left you off the "Thank you list" yesterday> Shame on me! So please accept my late thanks! Sometimes I'm such a turd in a hurry!
Thanks to everyone else who replied to my post! Skeye, even w/ your busy life and such horrable pain, somehow I knew you would be by w/ some kind words! You are my angel! Thank you!
R-Mom, there are two kind of people, them's that fishes and them's who don't! You are a fisherlady!!! Don't ever trust them's that don't, somethings wrong w/ them!!! I love "pond fishing" It's fishing at it's basic level. Everything is there only on a smaller scale! The prey and the preditors, the nature and all God's handywork> Ain't nutting wrong w/ sitting next to a pond on a nice day catching blugills, perch or catfish! It's how I cut my teeth way back when! Keep it up, it's good for the sole!! Thanks for your fishin story but did you catch any? Hugs!!!
PS> Yep, it makes a big difference when you drive the boat yourself instead of someone else cause you know when your turning, accellorating, stopping and hitting every wave! Much better to drive yourself when you have CP!!!!!
Loretta, Thanks for the hugs & prayers!!! I can feel them working! Yep, I got home from the doc's yesterday and was visitted by Mr. Nap! So I slept for about 45 min and got up a little groggy. Fussed around w/ this and that and completely forgot to call the stinking eye doc! Geeze! I will call him this a.m. for sure! I just hope he'll see me this week! Thanks again for your post, your an angel!
Chart, I lived in Austin back in the early 80's when you could go out and see Stevie Ray or his bro Jimmy & the Thunderbirds playin the clubs any night of the week! Anyway, we used to get scorpions in our house all the time! They would crawl across the ceiling going for the light above our bed! Only got stung once when one was in my shoe> about like a bee sting, not to bad just scarry looking! Your right about the snakes too, lots of rattlers out there along w/ other scarry things like taranchulas (we had them living in holes next to our driveway!) and those huge millopedes that bite! Yikes, I hated those!! Yep, the desert has lots of danger, it scares me more than the swamp anyday! Dani, keep an eye on your Bumble Bees, I'm sure you do!!!
Thanks for bringing back my Austin memories Chart, those were some fun times and the kind words, you are a good friend!
Lastly> Mikey again, oh your poor little finger!!! Thanks for the suggestions for my arm and the rude "overweight jokes" but I can only sleep in one position, on my right side w/ pillows placed in stratigic places around me and between my legs. Since my whole left side is shot to hell> neck, shoulder, arm, rib cage, hip, back, knee I can't sleep on that side! Forget the back or stomac, ain't happenin! So the only way to relieve the parts that fall asleep and go numb is to get up and move around! Mikey, you have so many good ideas, me and the other HW fam's desided that maybe we'll keep you around for a while> You might just come up w/ something the works> eventually! Thanks again!!
That's all for now folks! like Mikey, my finger is getting sore! Hunt & peck<> Hunt & peck!!!
Love Yuze Gize!!!

   Oh Chart!

*shiver* We have sand scorpions too. They are clear so you cant seem em *shiver* Roadrunners love to eat em!

     Pete!

Your new doc sounds like a keeper for sure! I am so glad you finally found a good one! about time. I am glad she looked at everything else too. Did you remember to make an appointment with the eye surgeon? If not, don't forgett to.

I would love a boat ride, but my youngest wouldnt do too well. Shes only 5 and shes still mastering the art of public potty control. She can make it about 30mins before each stop, but the moment she getts excited she does the pee pee dance and has to go again! My oldest busy bee would be thrilled to no end.. ..

OMG Hubby got home and I was telling him about the river idea and he says we would have a blast. I said I didnt think rose bear would make it that long without potty and he just told me how you go potty on a boat.  shocked

Snowbunny, I almost missed your post!!! You must haver been writing the same time I was because you were not there when I started!!! I hope you don't think I just forgot about or ignored you! I would never do that on purpose!!! Thats a great idea about rewarding myself for going to the doc's or getting a procedure done! I'm gonna wait to find out about my eye before I get the MRI! Also, my doc has been bugging me to get a Colonoscopy! I really should because the last one I had about 7 or 8 years ago, they took out pollops and said to get another every year! I gotta get that done too along w/ the sleep test for sleep apnea> Per Whitebeard! That's another important one! I just can't aford all the co-pays while not working along w/ all tha ding dang meds too! Sorry to whine on your dime SnowB!!!! Two days and I'm still hurting from the last fishing trip! I wish I could go more often but they cost $$ too! I'm shooting for once a week!!
Thanks again for posting SnowBunny!! By the way>>I love your name!

Dani, we could all turn around and she could use a bucket for a potty! Tell Rose Bear not to feel bad because I have about the same staying power as she does before I start doing the pee pee dance too !! So everyone will have to turn the other way when I pee off the back of the boat! Did you get the shaky Holomagator / river video I sent you?l
about my new Doc, I only scratched the surface of all my problems w/ her! I wish she had the time to read the 20+ pages of "pain" I wrote for social security for my appeal! I gave her a copy which is in her file of me, I saw it in there. I'm happy she had time for those two things though! I'm so happy I don't have to have surgery on my ankle!!! Thats why I put off getting it looked at for such a long time! My primary care doc told me I probably would need surgery! Glad he was wrong!
I've been calling the eye doc all morning and no one answers! I'm thinking about taking a ride over there this afternoon and showing the receptionist my EYE thing and saying> "What the **** is this???! Also, where he cut and stitched my eye, it's always beat red, espesially after being in the sun! Even though I ALWAYS wear sunglasses! OK, I think I'll go over there! I can take my pick-up truck w/ my 5 gal. containers for gas! The p/u needs gas to pull the horse & boat trailers and I need gas for the tractor and farm stuff like chain saw, generator, "dirt bike" and such! Gas is 10 cents cheaper over in that county where his office is even though it's only 12 miles away! It's around $2.75 there, I don't know how that compares to around the country but it's the cheepest around here! Oh Geeze, I'm thinking out load and babbling! SORRY!!!!
Talk later, I'm going now!
Thanks for the reply!
Your Buddy and #1 fan!!!

Chart, I was on those drops for ever before and after my surgery! They also had steroids in them that made me feel like crapola! I don't think any drops will fix this thing>> It's the eye lungy from hell! Thanks for the advice tho! I went over there and have an apt. first thing in the morning> 8:15!!! I'll let you know what he says!

Pete, I hope the doc can give you some definite answers today at your appt. That eye thing sounds scary in the least. Let us know what he has to say after you get home. Good Luck and will be looking for your post.

Dear Pete,
Well this is my first "trip" with you. I must say, I know it's bad, but I gotta go with SE! I got a laugh outta this that I didn't know I could laugh of late!! Thanks man, that was great! When the chips are down, there is just nothing better than a person with a great sense of humor and I believe you know about that. I hope all goes well with "Dr. Quinn", lady doc and that she will be swayed by your humor as I believe we all were. When it rains, it pours and sounds like it's been pouring a bunch of junk your way...good luck.
Take care,
Catz4
I'm called Cat or Stac at times, but as there are few other Cat's on here, I put the number of cats I have and combined it to spell out Catz4/DXed-Syringomyelia C-1 to T-1, Hypothyroidism, Diabetes Type II, IBS, Panic Disorder, ICC , Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Bipolar Disorder, Chronic Muscle Spasms, Torn Rotator Cuff in Left Shoulder, Frozen Shoulder. I had an emergency surgery for ruptured bowel in '05 w/colostomy and takedown in '06. I'm frightened most of the time and scared the rest! I would love to be heard by friends, family and now most of my doctors has seen the proof of my pain. What validation. This has beomce one of the most important words to me...to be validated. Too many meds to name/Too many allergic reactions/sensitivities to too many drugs to name. Meds for Panic Disorder, Pain, Bipolar, IBS, Hypothroidism, Diabetes, Insomnia and then some.

Pete,
my eye bump turned into a knot and I'm supposed to heat and steam it and use a steroid cream,
well I did that for weeks and it looked like nothing would help, so I finally gave up and after 3 days of
doing nothing it's actually looking better, (my eye) so if it gets big again, I guess I'll do the hot packs and steroid eye cream...
it's not totally gone and I don't think mine will ever go away, but it's looking better, so
good luck and well wishes being sent to you...hang in there...
we luv ya
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Pete)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
(mine started as an eye boil (in 2006) with 102 fever and 3 failed surgerys later it's still there)
if they do need to remove it make sure to ask if they use silk threads for the stitches, it's supposed to be better...but fingers crossed...
good vibes...
