"Privey" .....has asked me to update the members on her health.
Monday she will be admited to the Hospital to have a Hickman catheter installed.

She said it will be used to feed her nutrition. Normally, I would not tell a woman's
weight, but she said it was ok to do so.

My wife and I went to see her 2 weeks ago,
and at that time she was down to 98lbs, and quite frankly, we were shocked.
Today she is down to 93lbs.

It is my understanding from her, that some sort of a nutrition pump will be hooked up at bedtime,
and then removed in the morning. She may still eat as she normally does each day.

Her husband and "daughter", who is a "nurse" will have to attend a training class to learn how to hook it up.

Please keep her in your Prayers, as she despertly needs them. If we get a chance we will go and see her this weekend, as she only lives a couple of hours away.

Both her, and her husband have become very good friends of ours, and we care deeply for them. Wonderful People! I will continue to update when I find out more from her.

Thank you Michael. Cathy has become quite dear to me as well. Actually the three of us have formed a very close bond and we support each other in many ways. I spoke to Cathy on the phone on Sunday and yes quite frankly I am seriously worried about her. The news of the catheter being inserted for night time nutrition must have just came to light yesterday as she did not mention that to me in our phone conversation. I remember way back in the winter, say january or so, that i had mentioned this to cathy, that this is what they should be doing now and not wait until she is so undernourished. I too, am a nurse, and know very well what they will be doing. She needed this a long time ago. My poor Cathy. i pray for her each and every day and i carry her in my heart. To talk to her made me feel better. Although it is such a difficult journey for her, she has quite a positive attitude and is coping as well as she can. She is an inspiration to me to keep on truckin'!!!! I wish I lived closer to her so I could just hold her hand, give her my shoulder to cry on, to sit beside her!! I love her dearly.

Thanks again my friend for keeping us in the loop for our dear sister. She needs our prayers!!

Hugs to all.
May you each have a low pain day.

Hi Michael:

Thank you for updating us on her condition. Please tell her that she will be in my thoughts and prayers as well.

I had to have supplemental nutrition through a tube implanted in my stomach for several months, so I have some understanding of what she and her family will have to do. Very quickly they will get into a routine with it and although it is not an ideal situation, it will become routine.

I hope the nutition tube works and she feels better soon. I'm sorry to hear that things got this bad for her and pray that she continues to receive the care she obviously needs. Let her know I'll be thinking about her.

   Dear Privey,

Good morning! It is so good to hear from you. I must admitt I was rather worried. Last time we talked was at chat night a last month. I could tell you were having a hard time then.. I just had no idea of the severity of the problems.

I am so sorry your body is doing this to you. It isnt fair. You ve already lived through more than any person should ever have to. Your stregenth is greatly admired here. I hope the feeding line is able to help your body become more nurished. I cannot fathom the struggles you must be enduring on a daily basis. I am so proud to have you as a part of our lives here. You remind is all to keep fighting. Keep striving to do the very best we can each and every day.

I know you must be tired, so I will keep this short. Please, know you are ALWAYS in our prayers.

*hugg*
