Hi everyone!

I know I rarely post but I read everyone’s topics every day and I am grateful for a place to come when going at it alone is just too much to handle

Life has been crazy, was away from home for 1.5 weeks (First in Az to watch my Grandpa get a Silver Star and then to MI for a work trip) and I got lucky and things were within the tolerable range of pain (is it sad that I think a 6 or a 7 is good?) but now that I am home my body seems to be making up for lost time and I am in a world of hurt.  To make it worse I have to get a lower GI endoscopy on Thursday and the prep is trying to kill me!!!

I am heading to the pain doc today in order to get off the Nucynta...this stuff just sucks. It either leaves me kite high with a tummy and headache or does nothing...Lets all hope he is willing to try something else!  I cannot handle life without something for breakthrough pain...

Anyways,

I wanted to check in, say hi and let everyone I appreciate them for all they do.

If I can ever help in any way let me know. I am an herbalist who is really good at finding tricks and tips to help out with life’s little problems...

Take care,

Sarrah

Hi Sarrah
I thought it has been a long time since I have seen a post from you!! Glad to see you back! and Hope to see more of your post in the future! it does sound like you have been busy!

First off a big Congratulations to your Grandpa!

Any Prep for scoping the lower GI track is not fun! I do unstand your feeling about that. I am over do for a full colonoscopy, ( I have to get one every year!) and you are right the prep is the killer!

I do hope that your trip to your Pain Doctor is productive and worth while! It sounds like you really do need some better pain management!

Good Luck to you Sarrah

Hi Sarrah,

So good to hear from you. Congrats to your grandfather, wow. Yes, you are so right the prep for a scope is a killer, the procedure is a whiz but the prep forget it. I do hope the results of this testing comes back normal and there is no problem going on there.

Good luck wuith the PM dr, surely he will understand your situation with this medication, its worthless for you. You need something that helps, not something that creates more problems. Please let us know how things turn out.

Well I am back.
The colonoscopy went rather horribly. I was not "prepped" enough and they could not sedate me enough to not feel the scope ripping through adhesions so i get to do a whole weeklong prep and go under general anesthesia on July 1st...

As for my appt with my PM. It went well. We decided on 2mg Dilauded for breakthrough and so far it seems to be working without much "Wooo" as my hubby puts it!
