Well got to spend yesterday and all evening at hospital after falling on spilled pop that was not clearly cleaned up enough since they had 5 signs all the walkways.  So here I come to get my food with my brother and even walk carefuly stilled bit the floor.  Of course the store was full of ppl simce it was a sarurday so had ppl trying to get me and pulling on the side were I had broken ribs and finally got up filled out an accident report and thought I was alright for the min just hurting when I hit my right side on the floor.  We got our food and by the time I got it home(just like 10 min) I was feeling very sick.  Left the food even though I had not eated anything and stayed in my moms bathroom spilling what there was left in me till my mom came in and with my brother got me laying down and saying I now was hurting more.

I guess I slept about 30 min and was up in the bathroom again and talk crazy stuff like calling my brother by Dads name and this went on long enough to have my mom worried and wanting to call the paramedics.  I kept telling NO NO NO I didnt want to go till finally they did call them and again while a dont remember all the sudden I hear the sirens and started crying.  I guess they eventually convinced me to go with them, got a drip line and all the sticky things so they could see how my heart was doing and I remember pits and pieces of the ambulance ride and being admitted as a possible stroke? then stared all the tests and imaging with going in and out of sleeping until finally Jay was there and it was after 9pm and trying to get me stay overnite for observation.  I adimantly refused to stay as I felt nearly normal(for me) so they let me go pee on a bedside comode and ended keeping me a while longer since I had got up too fast an pulled my IV line almost out and was bleeding all over the floor and me.  They finally got the bleeding under control with me taking bood thinners.  I camr home and Jayson got me fed and out me to bed and stilling saying I didnt know why that happened to me and they thought  was just dehydrated and maybe took much of my medicine.

I got up this morning and hurt bad on my right side(the side that hit the floor) and they was a bruise on my shoulder and the right side of my face!  so I had hit that side when I fell so everything last night made sence last night with the vomiting and talking wierd and falling to sleep all night when I was there.  I called the hospital and told them what had happened when I hit my head and they said they couldnt add that to what they had down in thier report unless I went back there and was seen in the ER for it.  Well I had enough of them and so left it but I still have a hospital vist to show for what happened with me later night to give to Mc'Ds when they asked about it or I tell them.  Man what an ordeal.  Today I am laying low and resting I am so bruised on that right side and to go with my broken ribs from last week wow!  all I know I dont want to go through that again.  I was so frightened and scared thinking I had a stroke since didnt know I had hit my head in the fall.  And what a lousy thing to happen since the store worker had mopped up without drying the floor with all those ppl having to walking on it it was a disaster waiting to happen and lucky it just happened to be me!!! So I am sore but OK and just wanted to let you know.

Hugs to all,

Karen

Karen, I'm very sorry this happened to you, and I'm glad your injuries turned out to be less serious than they could be.

The one thing I"m not sure about is why you would be walking on the floor where there were 5 warning signs??? Was there not another way to get around? It sounds like McD's did everything they could to warn of a wet/slippery floor, so it's too bad you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Here's to fast and complete healing...hope you feel better soon!!!

hugs,
Pam

MsBunky: there was no place the customers could walk without walking on the floors that had been mopped. Everyone was walking on them since I had already ordered and paid for my food before floors were wet, we had to walk on them to get the food. I had never seen that many spill signs without being able to side step the wet floor. The guy mopping made the spill even bigger than he had to,hence forth all the signs and the manager saw him mopping. Apearently they just didnt take the time to make it safe since it was the lunch rush and it would have takin a few minutes to dry the floor. Poor planning on thier part and they told us to walk there.

Karen,
So sorry to read of yet another fall. Just what you didn't need! You know, I realize none of us like ER's but if you're not feeling better a visit to the ER in addition to maybe getting more medical help also serves as documentation. Maybe you can also have someone take a picture of your bruises with a camera that dates the photo.

I know with me I am so scared of falling (as all my original injuries came from a bad fall) I am super careful and will even avoid places that might be slippery or dangerous. Worst to me is winter ice! Next time yell to them to bring you your food, that you don't want to take the risk of falling!

Please take care.

Many thanks to you Palady,Char and Dani! its been hard tryin to get around. Jayson had been mean with me lately and I finally told him if he wants to continue with this bahavoir then he can move out. He has called me moron a few times and pushes me aside if I dont move fast enough than acts likes it is all my fault that I was in the way to begin with. I dont have to take this when I can barely move at all as it is. Its like he wants to punish me for having a stroke and getting hurt. I know from men treating me badly in the past that I will kick his butt to the curb and told him so. At first he was like " oh what did I do? I havent been mean" but he has....when he didnt have a job it was can I do anything? can I help you? and since going to work he has expected me to do things I just cant do. I cant live like this,he is all understanding one day and a bully the next? My brother who is visiting from Kansas has offered to help me doing whatever I need doing and I am going to take him up on it. Hope you have a lpd I love you guys.

   Dear Karen,

Good morning! I am glad to hear from you *hugg* I am sitting on my #2 when I KNOW I need to travel to albuquerque. Hopefully you are sitting and relaxing to! Better yet, sleeping in. I know you have mentioned sleep, true restful sleep, is hard for you. So, I hope you have a few moments to yourself during the day aswell.

It isnt okay for someone in your position to be treated like that. You are far to sick, far too fragile, to have to deal with any of that at any point in your life! Your time is waaay to precious to waste on that kind of unneeded stress and emotional pain. *hugg* So at any point that you are ready to transition into a new chaperter in your life we are behind you 100%! No matter what you decide, we are here. You are a very special soul and deserve a healthy environment. *hugg*

I do hope you are able to find a few moments to yourself today. You ve been through alot and need as much rest as possible. You are in our hearts and prayers here.

*hugg*
  dani

Karen,
please tell him you really won't tolerate that behavoir (sp?) and write him a note telling him how it hurts you, he might not know what he's doing..
maybe drag him in to a councilling session with you, might help...my pain management psychologist told me to have my hubby hold
onto a ice cube till it hurt and then some and then to let him know that it feels like that 24/7 for you and then maybe he would
get it...Sure hope he's treating you better soon...
keep us posted
