I think most, if not all of us have a sweet tooth now and then. Some more than others obviously. wink As kids we go for anything that tastes sweet or has sugar in it. Then as we mature we often refine our tastes for different kinds of sweets like really GOOD chocolate or other delicacy. But somewhere deep inside is still a love and craving for some of those 'kid' sweets. Is there a 'Kids' treat, snack, cereal or dessert that you still love? Do you hide your passion for this delight? Or do you not allow yourself to indulge in kids things any more?...too sad there!

So, do you still love KoolAid? Maybe Pop Rocks are still a favorite of yours. What about those iced animal cracker/cookies? I haven't had those in decades but I remember loving them! Do you inhale Rice Krispie Squares when no one is looking? Time to confess...what's the Kid treat that you still love??

OK, I'll go first here. I love "Corn Pops" cereal! I can eat it right out of the box, by the handful or in a bowl with icy cold milk. Are you old enough to remember the original name of that cereal??? It was named "Sugar Pops" until the anti-sugar campaign took off and sugar was a taboo. Here's a big of history on their name...

"Originally called Sugar Pops in 1951, it was later changed to Sugar Corn Pops, and then to "Corn Pops", during a time when many cereals dropped the word "Sugar" from their titles. In January 2006, the name of the cereal was changed to Pops, but after a few months of poor reception, was changed back to Corn Pops."

here's some more interesting history on this cereal:

So, what kid food do you still love??? Had any lately?

Uh-oh. Very bad for me with my GERD and all, but in the past few weeks I've picked up a craving for twizzlers! The long, red licorice candy that's twisted around and comes in a couple of flavors but the basic and only one to buy (IMO) is strawberry! They had them on sale when I was at Walmart a few days ago and I just had to buy a package which I immediately put on the front seat of the car and tore open so I could grab them while I was driving home (ok, my bad here, eating while driving).

I don't allow myself to buy them often, and never more than one bag at a time as it never lasts past the night.

My favorite cereal is Trix. "Trix is for kids!!" Sometimes, I will buy a box and eat it within a week. I love the taste. Brings me right back to childhood too.

I also used to love Sugar Daddys, caramel pops. They don't make them anymore, but I found a magazine that sold them in bulk and I thought about buying some. Now I wish I had. Oh I can just taste them.

Good topic Chutzie.

Waffles!! I love them. But to be good I now eat the whole-grain kind with lite syrup and non-trans fat butter spread. Oh, to be a grown up!

Just because I've grown up doesn't mean my taste buds have to! :) I still enjoy my sweets and when I was younger I would scarf down the Suzy Q's. Things haven't changed!

I absolutely love sour patch kids!!! They were not around when I was a kid but they are now...I used to eat a lot of Jolly Ranchers and still like them, but I go for more sour now! I like warheads too, sweet tarts, sprees and shock tarts! Makes my mouth water just thinking about them!

I don't eat commercial candy (other than chocolate -- that's my biggest weakness) too often (although I do have a major sweet tooth), but sometimes I'll get an irrational craving for something like those sugary sour apple strips or a Milky Way Bar.

Lately my fix has been potato chips -- Cape Cod potato chips & Lay's Sour Cream & Onion potato chips. I started eating them towards the last 1/3 of the semester, when I was really stressed & I haven't been able to stop. Okay, well, that's not completely true. I did stop when I finished school, but then I started again after my surgeries got canceled (thank you stress)...
