I can't believe how long it's been since we talked about food! We usually do it at least once a week or more so...today is it! What weird and unusual food combination do you love? Are you the one who likes peanut butter and dill pickle sandwiches like my mom did? Or do you put peanut butter and syrup on your pancakes? rolleyes Maybe your weird combination is fish sticks and jam! shocked Who knows???... smilewinkgrin But we all have some food combinations that are a bit off the wall. What's yours?

I'm not sure how weird mine are but I have some combinations that I do love. One is Ritz crackers dipped in homemade raspberry jam. Just dip one and you won't be able to stop! idea There's a salt/sweet thing going on there. Also, when I make homemade mac and cheese I have to have frozen/cooked peas with it. Then I stir them together on my plate as I eat it...ahhh.. Good eats! That one is from my childhood and school lunches. And it's been a very long time but sardine and mustard sandwiches were a fav of mom and I for lunch. yummm

What weird food combinations do you like?

How about this one: Using mashed potatoes as a dip for original Doritos.

Some people I have met....mainly those from big cities.....think home fried or hash browns topped with scrambled eggs and sausage gravy is a weird combo to eat.

I don't do this very often since my cholesterol doesn't like it much but deep fried hot dogs on a toasted bun topped with home made onion rings, mustard.

Another hot dog I used to make all the time was topped with lettuce, mayo, mustard, tomato, onion and bacon.

Well since I don't drink milk , I put Orange on my cereal. I especially like it on cranbery almond crunch, but it is realy good on raisin brand, sugar frosted flakes and grape nuts, just to name a few, I got this from my mother ( she did not use any dairy products) When I was in the military I used to get razzed allot about eating my cereal with OJ on it, but I managed to get a few of my buddies to try it and guess what? Yep! they liked it! The other thing I really like is Peanut butter and Mayonnaise and sliced Bananas and Barbecued Potato chip all between two slices of buttered white bread! I is really one of my favorite sandwichs!!

I'm guessing the Food Network isn't going to be beating down our doors for recipes...lol I could go with the banana on a sandwich but hold the mayo, please! And about those chips??? <shudder> What you need to invent, WB, is a cereal with the OJ already in it...just add water. How about taking some flaky cereal and adding powdered OJ like Tang and package it. Call it OJ Crunch!...just add water. How convenient is that for a camping trip?

OK, never mind. I'm sticking to my milk. I was allergic to milk for the first few years of life. I've got a lot of making up to do.

On the rare occasion that we get fast food....live in a small town that is 50 miles from any fast food....I like to dip french fries in my chocolate shake or frosty if it happens to be Wendy's! Kinda the sweet salty thing, also!

You need to go to Holland (Netherlands) they sell french fries in big paper cones, and they have a variety of different sauces that thay put over them, from of course ketchup, to a really good mayo sauce, and they have a fantastic hot(not spicey) peanut butter sauce that that is absolutely excellent on them. Anyway there was this one place outside of Amsterdam that offered something like 50 or 60 different types of sauces on their Pom fritz ( french fries)

I too, like the french fries in Frostys.  Or potato chips in chocolate ice cream.  Same thing.

Guess I'm pretty boring as I love my fries soaked in vinegar, but that's pretty common. Great curly fries and vinegar are the best. Also love peanut butter and banana sandwiches but not with the mayo and stuff (sorry, WhiteBeard! LOL).

I know I've got some crazier concoctions I eat, but can't think of them at the moment. Have had to tone everything down with the GERD issues. :-(
