Hi all, I just wanted to let everyone know my youngest child Shyanne had her adnoids and tonsils out today. She is fine (although sore) and we are home resting. Yes I said we, Shy, my Sis (antbuggey) and myself. It was a long day for all of us, starting with an hour drive each way! I felt so bad when she first woke up and she was near hysterical, but she is doing wonderful now. Hope everyone is having a low pain day!
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

Shannon and family -

I hope you all get some rest tonight! How old is your daughter?? I bet she IS sore (I had my tonsils/adnoids out when I was 7...).

I hope she has a quick recovery... are you loaded up on popsicles and all that stuff? :)

Hope she recovers really quickly. Not nice for a small child to undergo surgery, my heart goes out to you both. But little kids just seem to bounce back so wonderfully and then it leaves you in an exhausted mess... so take it easy.

Best wishes, golitho

Oh! Gosh I sure hope she is able to recover quickly. That must have been very frightening for her to say the least! You are all in our hearts and prayers here tonight. Try to rest when you can.

Thank you all so much for your concern and well wishes. Shyanne is 7, I forgot to mention that and she is my youngest (out of 5) so I guess she isn't a baby, but she is my baby! My oldest daughter who is 17 had a screw put in her foot in April and now Shy so it's been kind of difficult. She is resting well but is throwing up quite a bit. I am starting to think she is not tolerating the codiene in the tylenol. The doc says go ahead and just try tylenol today and try and make her eat something besides jello and popcicles. So she wants french fries from the one of the only restaurants in town, so that's what she's getting. I sure hope she holds them down! Thanks again all! This is why I love this place so much, everyone truly cares. Take care.
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

Hi Shannon:

I took my niece to have her tonsils out a couple of years ago, and I took care of her for the first two weeks after surgery. It is tough to see them go through the pain of recovering from surgery. I hope that taking her off the codeine stops the vomiting - I can't imagine how painful that would be so soon after this kind of surgery.

I hope she has a speedy recovery!

Yes we do care!! I am praying for your little princess. My daughter had hers out when she was 12. She was wheeled out of recovery screaming at the nurse for opening her gown. She was very modest. LOL

But she did fine and each day it got better. Lots of TLC and ice cream and she will do fine. I pray the vomiting stops cause that is nasty for a little girl to go through right now. She doesn't deserve that.

You take care too and get some rest. Don't forget to eat, yourself. Gotta take care of the caregiver, you know.

Blessings on you all. Please keep us up to date too.

And by all means, when you are down, ask me for help.  I will be there.

Hi Shannon!

I too will add you all to prayers to night! You mentioned she was near hysterics when she woke up after surgery. Is it possible she had a bad reaction to the anesthesia? Often older and younger people can have that happen. But also for a child it's just a frightening thing to be disoriented and in a strange and scary place. I hope those fries go down easy. Sure sound good to me!

Special Shy Hugs!

Thank you guys soooo much. She is doing a little better today. I am exhausted, I feel like I can't get enough sleep. It's crazy! I can't believe what stress does to us. Sherrine gave me a recipie on the fibro forum for the vomiting, I am going to try it out and see what happens. She seems to be doing better each day though, so for that I am very thankful! Thanks again all and here's to a low pain day!
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon
