Hi Everyone! I'm back> Like a bad habbit!!!
We have company this weekend! Long ago, my wife took this young girl from Equidor under her wing and became very good friends over the years w/ her whole family. They concider her family. Well this girl has a 6 y/o daughter and along w/ her Mother, all three are visiting all weekend! They arrived last night around 9:30pm. They were supposed to be here at 6:00pm for dinner so I cooked a big Itallion dinner. They ate on the road! They were up drinking wine way past midnight after I went in around 11:30pm. The young girl has been terrorizing Rose (dog), Hanna (cat), Ponyboy & Angie (birds) since they got her! She is spoiled rotten and doesn't listen to her Mother or Grandmother! They will be here untill Monday and I'm ready for them to leave now! My back is killing me and had me up since 3:45am.
I took Gia out this morning to show her the wild birds but she wasn't interested. Then took her over to my garden ad asked if she could see any watermellons. I was walking in front of her and when I turned around she had picked 3 wittle baby watermellond off the vines! She told me she wanted to show her mother. Grrrrr!
Sorry but I'm just a little cranky right now! Along w/ my horrable back pain, meds didn't touch it, I'm getting a headache, you know the kind you get from lack of sleep and agravation!!!
I might go lock myself in the bedroom and put a pillow over my head while they are down at the barn but I know as soon as I dose off, they will be back and NOISY!!
I wish they could be nice and conciderate. I realize that they are from a forign country, Moma lives in Equador and they think we are family but come on!!
I wish the little girl was more like Rose & Tessa (Dani's Girls) when they visited, they were so respectful and fun to be with and I'm not just saying that! I had soooo much fun w/ them!!!
OK, I'll stop whining! So how's your weekend going???
When I was young & stupid I broke almost every bone in my body and I'm paying a heavy price now but I'm still here and so glad to see my two sons grow up to be fine young men, both are in the Navy. I'm so proud! My biggest health problem>> I'm a certified Luny~Tune!!

Hey Pete,
First, I'd like to validate how you are feeling!!!  I have several family members with children I'd rather NOT have visit my home.  Actually, I'd rather not visit them either....but I'm going to have one of the sweethearts over here at my house on two days this week ALL DAY because somebody else is too sorry to keep him/her.  Anyway.....I get you!!!  I love to keep and entertain children who are well mannered and pleasant, but the others wear me out!
My little girl is 10, but very mature for her age.  She is (to the best of my knowledge) always polite and respectful so I expect that out of other children...NOT... One of her "friends" visited the other day and I was ready for her to go home within 20 minutes.  I could not believe that one child could be so much of a disturbing presence in such a short time.  The parents are really nice, but the child has absolutely NO respect for her parents or anyone else.  I amazes me.  With all of these children who are so disrespectful, I feel like we (as a society) are doing them such a disservice.  We are allowing them to think that the whole world should cater to them and their poor behavior.  We are too lazy to make sure our own children respect others and we are causing the epidemic of self-serving individuals.  Uggghhhh!!
Ok, I'll get off of my soapbox now....lol....I just wanted you to know that you aren't alone!
Rest well my friend!

Don't kids like that drive you nuts? tongue I'm sorry but I had to laugh at the watermelon part! I bet you wanted to scream (hey, that's your precious garden that you've worked SO hard on!).

I love kids (obviously)... and our house is a revolving door of kids.... But, I'm with you and Retiredmom - I only do well-mannered and respectful kids. My kids aren't perfect, by any means, but they are polite and well-behaved.

Don't get me started! RM, I'm right there with you on this soap box :)

Anyway, Pete - take care of yourself and know Monday's not that far away wink

Hey Mikel....

Have a good time w/ your friend! Happy 4th, my friend.

Given that I can't get up, I'm watching a "Lockup" marathon on MSNBC. Fun stuff, let me tell you... lol....

Assuming I feel up to it, we're going to go to my aunt & uncle's tomorrow evening for hotdogs and hamburgers & then go to the regional fireworks at my old high school (although we actually watch them from a farm on a hill above the school). Other than that, I'm planning on staying home & playing around with my stimulator.

Happy 4th to everyone in the USA!

Hi Pete! I can definitely relate to your stuff going on. I feel too many parents want to be "friends" with their kids instead of being a parent. I am so proud of my 2 sons. They were great kids (at least in my eyes). I'll be spending the 4th visiting with my Mom (she's 89) at her assisted living apt. I'll take my little 14 yr. old Maltese Laci with me. I'll have to call my oldest son as he was born 12:11 am 38 yrs. ago. Yes he was my little firecracker. Take care and I wish you and everyone a happy 4th! Donna rolleyes

     Dear Donna,
That is all I hear now days. "Im want to be my son/daughters best friend. They should have fun while they are young and do whatever makes them happy." And the first thing outta my mouth before I can stop my self is always..."I can be friends with 3 billion people in the world, but I can only be mom to 2 little girls." It is so important I do my very best. I want so much to look back and know in my heart that I did the very best I could.
   Dear Pete,
Aww, well thank you. But you know I am pretty sure they came pre packaged with cutness! My bumblebees are sure you are going to come to new mexico anyday now so they can show you all the "animals" here. Mostly roadrunners! hehe they are cuties :-)
As for 4th of july. We don't have very much planned. I want to go pick some wild flowers in the feild (mostly just want a quiet walk early in the morning with the girls). I think Miss Tessa had a movie she wanted to watch on PPV.  Oh yes and at some point I need to make some tortillas during the day for build your own fajita / taco tomorrow night. Then hopefully, we can get to the park by my house and view the fire works display, and after that probably have some small fire works displays at our house with the rest of the neighborhood. Not terribly exciting, but I am looking forward to a relaxing day  :-)
I sure hope you and Miss Lisa have a great evening too! More so though, I hope you can have a somewhat low level pain day. We sure do miss you guys an awfull lot!
