Hello Everyone, hope you all are having a reasonable low pain day ..well i went to my app. with the Anesthesiologist...we had a good discussion about my back issues and he gave me a physical  as much as he could..alot of the things he asked me to do i could not..He asked me alot of questions as well..like how far i can walk...can i climb stairs things like that...We talked about the spinal injections and he is very unsure if they are going to help me at all..for i have to many other issues going on as well with my back which is causing me much pain that the injections will not help...so he is leaving the decision up to me if i go thru with them  on Sept 7th...He has tried me on another new drug to see if it helps for couple months to give me time to think about the injections...if i find the pills are helping some i can call and cancel the injections and can always rebook ...so i dont know what to do..i know the injections are not going to be pleasant for he can only freeze the skin..with a result of not likely helping not to encouraging..By the time two hrs were up we covered all the problems with my back...seems there is nothing that can be done to fix me...im going to have to live with these problems all they are able to do at this point is to try and control the pain...so i can function on a day to day basis...which really took me back...i sat there staring at him in total shock and disbelief  ...i will be seeing the spine specialist as well but he told me not to expect Dr Oxner to diagnose me any differently...He gave me a chonic pain site told me i should read it..that there is some good information there..SO that was not the news i was expecting and today is the first day ive been up since my app. for all the pushing and bending things he got me to do put me in bad pain for a week but feel some better today...maybe the pills are helping some..but im not banking on anything anymore..guess ill go lay down again...take care everyone..will post again when i get this pain level down some

hi nice to meet you i too suffer from chronic back pain. i did do the injection thing and im not for them myself but everyone is different i had nerve blocks and epidurals. the epidural i found to work the best but it didnt last very long and felt in worse pain afterwards. im not discourging you maybe it could work better for you but didnt for me. I no longer get them and just take pain medicine that arent really working so great i think i might try going to get the injections again even if i only get three hours it;s better than being in pain 24/7 keep in touch.
