Well, it’s been a while since I’ve been here. I was in a terrible place in my mind, my health and my emotions when I left which I feel kept me from bringing others down so low. Since I’ve been gone, I’ve had surgery on my shoulder for Frozen Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Tear. I’m in PT 3 days a week and doing well. I’ve kept up with some of you; I see some have left and many “new” for me that is, are here. I have to thank Mikel and Momto6boys otherwise known as Tina for staying in touch with me through the roughest times of my life. My Syrinx has grown and I’ve developed hard shaking, cold chills all over at certain times, but I’m working on dealing with the progression of my disease. I want to come back to HW for the friendships and the caring and understanding people I’ve met here. Thanks to everyone for sharing a part of your life and letting me share a part of mine.

I'm called Cat or Stac at times, but as there are few other Cat's on here, I put the number of cats I have and combined it to spell out Catz4/DXed-Syringomyelia C-1 to T-1, Hypothyroidism, Diabetes Type II, IBS, Panic Disorder, ICC , Fibromyalgia, Migraines, Bipolar Disorder, Chronic Muscle Spasms, Torn Rotator Cuff in Left Shoulder, Frozen Shoulder. I had an emergency surgery for ruptured bowel in '05 w/colostomy and takedown in '06. I'm frightened most of the time and scared the rest! I would love to be heard by friends, family and now most of my doctors has seen the proof of my pain. What validation. This has beomce one of the most important words to me...to be validated. Too many meds to name/Too many allergic reactions/sensitivities to too many drugs to name. Meds for Panic Disorder, Pain, Bipolar, IBS, Hypothroidism, Diabetes, Insomnia and then some.

Hi Cat,

Thanks for the update. It's great to hear from you, although I'm sorry to hear that you are still having a rough time. Shoulder surgeries are tough. I've had 3 myself. I always found it took 12 - 18 mo (and perhaps even as long as 24 mo) before I felt halfway normal after surgery. You have to remember that surgeons base "recovery time" on ideal situations (which in my opinion often leads to unreal expectations -- especially since each person's body reacts differently to such trauma). Just stay on top of your PT & keep that shoulder moving. It's slow going, but you'll get there! Let me know if I can do anything to help!

hugs,
Skeye

Hey Cat,

I'm sorry I took so long to respond. I would like to welcome you back and hope to get a chance to post to you more often. I go in spells where I feel up to responding to everyone I can and then other times when I'm just not up to anything beyond the day to day here at home.

I hope you find a better day today!

Oh you guys! This is why I came back!! I really needed you all, but I was so depressed I just closed myself off from almost everyone. That's not healthy at all. I just really appreciate the caring posts and am excited to be involved with such wonderful people again!
