HI FRIENDS: tongue

THIS WAS MY FOURTH CHEMO ROUND.  I KNOW I SAID LAST TIME IT WAS THE FOURTH, BUT MY MIND WENT A LITTLE SCREWY, SO SORRY FOR THAT.

I AM HAVING A BIT OF A HARD TIME WITH PAIN IN MY LEGS AND FEET AND TROUBLE WITH MY STOMACH TODAY.  I HAD THE CHEMO TREATMENT YESTERDAY.  I AM DRINKING A LOT OF WATER THIS TIME TOO.  I GUESS I NEED IT.

I TOLD THE ARNP THAT MY FEET WENT NUMB THE LAST TIME AND SHE WAS CONCERNED.  SHE SAID THAT WAS THE TAXOL AND THAT IT COULD BE IRRIVERSABLE, SO SHE LOWERED THE CHEMO BY 20%.  I ASKED IF THAT WOULD EFFECT THE TREATMENT ON MY CANCER AND SHE SAID IT WOULDN'T BUT THAT I HAD TO BE ABLE TO WALK.  I'M STILL NOT CONVINCED, SO I WILL DISCUSS IT WITH THE DOCTOR IN THREE WEEKS, BUT THEY DECREASED IT YESTERDAY.

MY WHITE AND RED BLOOD WORK DROP AFTER THE CHEMO, BUT THEY SAY IT IS NOT LOW ENOUGH FOR ME TO BE HOSPITALIZED YET, SO THAT IS GOOD.

MY DEAR FRIEND SENT ME A BOX THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAY WITH HATS AND SCARVES AND A BEAUTIFUL CAPE.  ONE IS MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THE OTHER AND I KNOW SHE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THIS "LOVE" PACKAGE.  I AM SO BLESSED WITH SO MANY GOOD FRIENDS AND FAMILY.  MY GIRLS AND MY HUBBY ARE RIGHT THERE FOR ME AND I FEEL SO GOOD about THAT.  THEY CALL ME EVERYDAY AND LINETTE COMES BY WITH THE KIDS VERY OFTEN, WHICH LIFTS MY SPIRITS EVERY TIME.  MY HUSBAND, MARIO SITS WITH ME ALL DAY DURING THE CHEMO AND GOES OUT AND BUYS ME LUNCH AND THEN BUYS ME DINNER EVERY NIGHT FOR SEVERAL DAYS UNTIL I AM UP TO COOKING AGAIN.  SUCH A BLESSING.

WELL, THAT'S IT FOR NOW.  I ONLY HAVE TWO MORE CHEMO SESSIONS TO GO AND THEN I GO OFF TO RADIATION TREATMENTS.  I WILL HANG IN THERE AND EVERY DAY GET STRONGER WITH ALL THE TREATMENT.  THANKS FOR YOUR LOVE, CONCERN AND PRAYERS.  IT MEANS THE WORLD TO ME.

GOD BLESS.

Lindaloo, I am not sure if I have introduced myself yet. My name is Mindy. I am so sorry that you are going through chemo right now, and my heart goes out to you and your family. I will keep you all in my prayers.

How is your stomach bothering you? If you feel nausea and have any vomiting, you can use rubbing alcohol to reduce that and eliminate vomiting. On bad days I carry a zippered up sandwich bad with cotton balls soaked in rubbing alcohol, and whenever I feel nauseous or close to throwing up, I breathe in very deeply that nasty scent through my nose a few times. It stops it in its tracks. I hope it works for you.

Hi Linda,I know from my Mother's battle with cancer(s) 5 years ago, that some of the chemo treatments can have some nasty side-effects.I'm sorry to see that now is one of those times for you. Please rest and relax as much as is possible and remember to limit your exposure to colds and flu's while your red and white blood cell count is down.I pray for your speedy recovery.Take care...........Rod....PS...My Mom is doing great.

Oh Lindaloo,

I wish I had helpful words and ways to ease your discomfort, but I can only offer support. You have only two left. Take them one day at a time and keep thinking that only two then becomes only one then none!!!

Please do contact the Dr about the problems though. I know the nurses say they will, but a follow-up call certainly could not hurt. You're going to make it through this very soon now and we don't want any lasting effects bothering you.

All my best.
