Let's play... "Name that Pet"! OK, silly name but let's share the names of some of the pets you've had. If you want you can explain why you gave your pet his/her name. Let's go~~

You must remember that I have had a large number of decades to accumulate and enjoy my pets so if the list seems long do take that into consideration. smilewinkgrin Currently we have Cedar, our Golden Retriever puppy. I chose the name because we have wooded acreage and the Cedar trees are my favorite. I chose the name long before we found her and the strange thing is the breeder we bought her from lives by the Cedar River.

Other names for dogs: Trucker, Trina (nickname for her long show name), Moose, Odie, Chomps, Mo~Heir <I didn't name that one rolleyes > Buppy, Peanuts and all of these died of old age. I know I left someone out. Oh, like a delinquent poodle my aunt gave me named 'Pretty Boy'. I knew something was wrong and it was. He lacked quite a few brain cells....lol

Some of the cats over time: Bob (lol..I always loved that name for a cat...Bob-Cat), Einstein (white tufts of hair sticking out of her ears), Tug, Tigger, Mango, Snowball, Ditz (she really was not all there. was a stray long hair tortie that someone dumped so I rehabbed her), there's one I'm trying to hard to remember..and if I do I'll add it later on.

Horse, Palomino - Candy

Sheep - Cashew and Oreo. When Oreo was pregnant with twins we called her Oreo with Double Stuff. tongue

Didn't name all of the chickens, peacocks, etc and when I was a kid dad wasn't in favor of naming the cows. Didn't want us to get attached. wink

Now it's your turn! What are the names of some of your pets?

At this time we have Achilles, our 4-year-old golden retriever, and Monty Moneybanks, our boston terrier pug mix puppy. I had a chihuahua named Little Bit, short for Little Bit of Nothing. While growing up I had a beagle hunting dog name Shy Babe, and a german shepherd dog name Nash, who went on to become a K9 drug dog for our local police. He was a rescue too.

Cats have been Austin, Poppy, Ginger, she had a ginger colored tummy and chin. We currently have Charcoal, Rascal who weighs 25 pounds, Midnight, Sampson (also huge) and Little Miss Mindy. All our pets are very friendly to people and each other. They also have all either died of old age, or put down because of old age and quality of life issues.
The worst sin towards our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them. That's the essence of inhumanity. George Bernard Shaw

The last two dogs I hav had the first one was named. Kneesea as in Princess Kneasea the Ewoke from one of the Star Wars movie. the kids named her, she was part Poodle and part dust mop. ( really part Yorky) She was my buddy for around  six years, had to have her put down after being attacked another much biggger dog!

My second dog was named Moggwia ( we called him moggie for short) the kids also named him, he was a mixed terrier and the kids said he looked like some aninmal  or something out of this horror movie, his eyes were real different color, kind of like a bright yellow brown color. Anyway  as a pup he was raised with cats and did allot of things a cat would do. I just had him put down a few years ago, had him close to 19 years and he was over a year old when we got him. Anyway it was quality of life issues for him, That is always such a hard thing to do!
