Hi, I am from the Lyme Disease Forum and I thought I would come on over and ask a question about pain management since you guys are most likely the experts.

I have extreme muscle and joint pain, short term narcotics don't work very well and wear off fast.
My Dr. just started me on Methadone 10mg 3x day. How does this w ork for those of you who have tried it, I am a little scared, but I am hoping it will help so I don't have to chase the pain everyday.
One day at a time~

It helped me quite a bit. I was doing very poorly before I started on the methadone, and now I am going to college full time. I take 20mg per day (10mg 2times a day). Have you been taking pain meds for while before the methadone? Because I know when I started on a total of 15mg per day I was very tired all day. SO if you have not been taking pain meds and do not have a tolerance I would imagine that 30mgs per day would make you very tired, but if you have been on pain meds for a while you would be fine I am sure. Or you could be fine even if you dont have a tolerance, it just seems like a lot for someone if they did not have a tolerance. I had minimal side effects when I started, just I was very tired for a couple weeks, then that went away as I got used to the medicine. Good luck, I hope this works out for you like it did for me.

I hope everyone has a pain-free day,
Circa
