Sertaline is an anti-depressant. I have chronic low back/leg pain. Have had 6 surgeries and one on 12-3-97(to remove hardware).

Sean, welcome to the Chronic Pain forum! As far as the medications you take, that should be between you and your doctor. Everyone has different levels of pain. You might suffer more pain than someone else so you may need the extra medication. If you are concerned, perhaps talk to your pharmacist. I find that they know more about medication and their interactions than the doctors. After all, the medications are their specialty! Your pharmacist may be able to ease your mind a bit.

Hiya Sean! And welcome to our family. Guess I have a question to answer your question...how much is "a lot" of medications??? I feel like I"m taking bucket loads and my list is:

Dipentum
Dapsone
Celebrex
Prempro
Colace
Effexor
Lantus insulin
Humalog insulin
Oxycontin
Percocet
Daily vitamin

Guess it's all relative. Others take more than I and others less. I'd say if you are taking med's you need, then you're doing just right. ;-)

Hugs,
Chutzie
