Hi all
Firstly merry xmas to one and all!! :-)
Well went up to hospital friday and saturday to get bloods and metho ended up waiting for hours so i still have not got my bloods and metho!this seems to be happening to me a lot recently ill phone the ward and ask them if my metho is up either its not up or its not in the fridge then they turn round up say its not up when infact it is this is really getting me stressed out now also because i cant manage the same day for my metho they say i am messing them around i really dont know which way to turn now its getting to the stage i really dont want to go to hospital i appreciate the gastro ward is a really busy ward but it does not seem to matter which time you go up there its always busy!.
i have now called my gastro consultants secretary to see if i can bring my appointment forward instead of march is there anyone else in the same situation i cant get my metho done at the doctors so god knows what else i can do the only thing i can do is go back to oral and give it a try i really cant tolerate that ward anymore and the waiting around.
when i had my appointment in november i discussed all this with the doctor i saw her reply was ill see if i can get your bloods and metho done in another ward im still waiting on that call so for now im not going up to the hospital again until i discuss this with my consultant.
sorry for complaining on xmas eve been crying since friday sad

So sorry to hear about your troubles. Where is it that you live that you have to get your bloods at a hospital? I know your methotrexate is your bigger concern though and unfortunately I have never been on that so I dont know how you take it....iv, SC, IM, pill etc.

I hope you are able to have a good holiday and try to put that in the back of your mind ...I know it is hard I have issues when it comes to my Humira. My issue is my health insurance since I need the script then since it is so costly they have to talk to the GI so then the insurance needs authorization etc if it gets denied after that even then you have 2 appeal it ugh what a mess.

The best was the morons at the insurance put that the CD starter pack was going to last me 6 months so they were refusing to pay for my maintanence dose for 2 months and it was a fight everytime

I agree that this really sucks. I can't believe for maintenence stuff they are still triaging you and making you wait. But, in the meantime you still need to get your medicine. I am trying to understand your post and it sounds like you got so upset waiting that you left. Is this why the hospital is upset? Because you didn't stay? While they are trying to get to the bottom of it you should do what I do when I fly (or have to be in any other situation that you hate). Make a fun pack. And yes, I am 26 not 12 and this still works. Get together a bunch of stuff that you like but are guilty pleasures so you never really buy them. For me that would be trashy celebrity gossip magazines, cosmo magazine... I like to crochet but never have time for it during school, so I bring yarn and a hook, I bring my journal that I NEVER have time to write in, I bring thank you notes and write all the ones that have been piling up.) Bring stuff that you will actually look forward to doing and that will last you hours. That way rather than sitting there waiting for the doc to call your name you will be happily occupied. I had to bring my husband to the doctors last semester and I brought my laptop and worked on an outline for a final exam. When he was all done I said "give me 10 more minutes, I need to finish this chapter." The people in the waiting room looked at me like I was nuts, wanting to stay there longer, but I was getting so much accomplished I didn't want to leave. Now the key for this to work is you can ONLY use the stuff in your fun kit when you are at the hospital so that it has all that new appeal.

dragonfly im in the uk im not surprised the nhs over here is constantly in the media with one thing and another i just dont understand why the metho has to be administered in clinical setting no matter how much they try and persuade me to continue with the metho injection im going to ask for the oral i had the oral before but im sure i was having a flare up.
Its not me thats messing the hospital ward about its the other way round at least i have the decency to call them when im ill or i have the flu they want to portion the blame onto me well enoughs enough ill make an appointment to see my doctor and see what she says!
I can appreciate all hospital wards being busy but it seems that no matter what time you call that ward its always busy im sick to death of waiting for hours on end and the constant sarcasim given to me by one of the nurses herself having crohns disease!
Until your diagnosed with a chronic disease you dont fully understand not even the nursing staff im just tired of it all the meds the appointments the bloods meth it never ends for now i wont be keeping incontact with ward 13 until i see my consultant. They dont seem to accept we have a life we cant just appear at the ward when its convenient for them we never asked for this disease none of us did not much wonder we all suffer from depression. sad
