I writing because my husband has had CD for the past 28 years. He's has 2 surgeries on in 1994 and the other in 2001. In 1994 he had a total large bowel removal and 6 in of small intestine removed. In 2001 he had a reconstruction of the small bowel. Well now up todate. He has 2 fiscula to far up his small intestine to have surgery again. They tunneled through his back muscle into his back. We are also fighting a lower back infection from the out put of the fiscula. Right now he's got IV antibiotics that he gets once a day plus other med's. It took so long for the doctors to believe me when I took him in back in April to the emergency room. And then in July we went to the doctors and they said it was a cyst and they just punch a hole in his back to release the pressure. And back in October is when the surgeon did a CT and found out this was going on. He ended up in emergency in Nov and now we are seeing a infectious disease doctor. When the infections is gone he will start Remicade. Last week they did another CT scan and they put a drain tube inside abscess to drain the infection.
Well, Thanks for listening Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I know that 2008 will be better then the ending of 2007 for us and anyone else with this disease.
