Happy New Year Everyone.
Hoping that you will all have a better year ahead, healthwise. Much happiness and many, many blessings to you all.
Wondering if any of you make NY's resolutions. Mine used to be to lose weight....stay away from chocolate. Well, chocolate makes me sick now so that's no sacrifice....and the losing weight...well....lets just say I'm not making that same resolution again this year.
My resolution is to try to live in the moment. Try to live everyday, good or bad as it comes and not worry about having a bad day when I'm having a good one....and not berate myself when I'm having a bad day....scold myself for not having a good day.
I am resolving to give myself 15 minutes per day to worry and that's it....when time's up, time's up....I will force myself to distract myself, put a smile on my face and consciously change my thinking. I don't know how I will manage with any of it. But I am determined to try.
Good luck with all your resolutions .....

Happy New Year One and All,

Well Marie-Claire i think my resolution is along the same lines as yours. Stop sweating the small stuff, stop beating myself up about things that are out of my control and just to smile more and stay positive.

I find myself feeling like my life is way behind everyone elses when i see people getting married and travelling all the time, and generally being able to do as they please without having to worry about stupid things like we have to.

And finally i am not going to stress about being single while all my friends are happily in love. It is lonely alot of the time i do admit but, i guess i have to have faith and just believe that everything happens for a reason and someday mr right will find me!!

But i do believe all of us with this disease have become stronger in some way or another because of it.

Here's hoping for a miracle medical breakthrough in 2008 so we can all be given a new lease of life................ well it's nice to dream

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I will do the best I can each day and remember to be good to myself.

Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and absurdities
no doubt have crept in;
forget them as soon as you can.

Tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well and serenely
and with too high a spirit
to be cumbered with
your old nonsense.

This day is all that is
good and fair.
It is too dear,
with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on yesterdays. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Im with you guys, Im resolving to accept the things that I can't change, and be courages enough to change the things I can.

I'm also resolving to be more of an adult and take this thing on head first, I'm no longer gonna run from it and pretend it doesnt exist. With God's help I'm gonna conquer this thing, and when the cure is finally discovered I'll be happy for those who wont have to suffer thru what i have.

Happy New Year and Blessings to everyone

This is the first year in many that I don't have prednisone weight to lose, so that one is out.

It's the first one in all my life that I actually belong and go to a gym, so that one is out.

Those were always the two big ones, and I've always been pretty good about not letting CD take control.

So, my resolution is to not make any resolutions and just enjoy each and every day to the best of my ability!

Happy New Year Every One, May it be a healthy one for us all!

resolutions? To have more smiles and bouts of laughter than tears. To find ways to make the bad day somewhat a positive. To wake up each day, glad to be alive and surrounded by those I care for and love and have excellent health care and have my basic needs of life sustained. These all are similar, but it is my goal...

Honestly, I have been so sick this year in 2007! That I am not going to make any Resolutions this year besides being Healthy! And living a good Life! 2008 is going to be a good year for me. Unfort. I brought in the New Year in the Hospital. But I am so lucky to have so much support and I know in the end it will be okay. I will not go off in what has been going on but I am in so much pain and am trying to recover from my 5 day hospital Stay. I am going to the Mayo Clinic @ the end of this month so I pray and hope and wish they help me in many ways or or at least with my Crohn's. So really no New Years Resolutions besides to be Healthy in 2008!

THANK YOU AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
I have had Crohn's since I was 21 years old and I am now 27....

I have many, many things I want to accomplish in 2008, so my resolution is to do something toward one of those goals every day.  Some of them will take a lot of work to accomplish and some of them are fairly simple and restful, so I should be able to mix it up and keep making progress, even if I get sick again.  (Which, hopefully, I wont.  Get Into Remission is one of my goals!)

I started a few years ago resolutions of things I know I can keep…

#1 - be the best Mom I can be

#2 - try not to stress myself too much
#3 - try to be happy even when I am not having good days

I used to do the weight loss one and I only kept it one time and gained it all back L
