The last few months i have been feeling like i get fuller faster when i eat.Well two nights ago i had a roast beef sandwich on wheat grain bread. Right after I ate it, i could feel it just working its way down where the pain was so bad i took 2 vicodyne and went to bed. When i got up the next morning i had no pain but an hour later i started to throw up and not much was coming up. Then about a 1/2 hour later i swear that sandwich showed up again! I could tell because of the small grains that are in it. Is this possible? How can i have anything in my stomach 14 hours later. Is this the sign i might have to have surgery? I have had no pains since this episode 1 day later. The following morning after throwing up, i just slept the entire day.It is now 24 hrs later and feel ok. Has anyone experienced something like this??

Thanks for any replies

it may have left your stomach and was forced back up into it and then you vomited. if you have a stricture that gets very narrow, this can happen. very bad pain, then later some vomiting of what you ate last. i suspect that you should check with your dr and they may wish to do a upper barium study to see where and how bad a stricture may be. in a very bad case you may even vomit feces, which from personal experiance aint fun.

When i had my blockages i had the worst pain ever. I threw up and then i felt better when the blockage opened up but until it did i would keep throwing up. If it happens again i would call the doctor right away. hopefully you just had a stomach bug. good luck. Barb

I have had barium studies in the morning, not eaten anything for the rest of the day (the barium makes me not feel well, go figure). Then been woken up in the middle of the night with barium on my nightshirt. So that is something like 18 to 20 hours later. I would call your doctor to at least inform them. They might not want to do anything, but they might. Its always better to be safe than sorry.

The other thing it could have been is that occasionally those narcotic drugs can make you sick to your stomach. Do you know what dosage you took? The fact that there were little grains in your vomit is not necessarily too worrisome because some of that stuff "hangs around" if it's indigestible (also includes things like sesame seeds), but if you're still feeling sick I'd call your doc.
