Truthfully with me just now being diagnosed I have to go through all the foods that I eat and re-try them to see what really effects me. I know that I don't really care about milk and that I absolutely can not tolerate wheat products. Now that I know what it really is I'm interested in making myself feel better. I never noticed gummy worms bothering me though. Good luck with figuring it out. Best of luck ~Amanda
Amanda: age 23 happily married for 6 years Mother to Kirstiana 5, Savannah soon to be 2, Halen 11 weeks
I have had symptoms since childhood but I was FINALLY diagnosed 1/14/2008! I also have scoliosis and hypothyroidism
Currently taking: Pentasa 500 mg 2 tablets 3 times daily  Darvocet 1 tablet every 6 hours as needed (I can't take due to watching my children it makes me drowsy and sick) Prednisone 60 mg to decrease by 10 mg weekly until down to 2.5mg Ranitidine 300 mg 1 tablet twice daily Women's one a day multi-vitamin with double the calcium once daily, I take levoxyl 200mcg for my thyroid issue.

I could eat them if I wanted but I gave up sugar and junk food because it wasn't doing my overall health any good and sugar and junk foods are know to exacerbate IBD symptoms, so there's really no benefit to ingesting it...never thought a former sugar addict would ever think this way but wow I'm glad I do.

I eat gummyworms, gummybears or just about any type of gummys. Yes, PB4 I know the sugar is bad, but since I can no longer have any kind of chocolate, I just got to have a little gummy candies. LOL But I will add I can only have a little at a time.

I don't eat anything with a gummy texture. Culprits that have caused obstrucitons for me are eggplant, mushrooms, and other similar soft but firm foods. I suppose candy might dissolve before it causes trouble, but I'm not taking any chances.
Take care. Lois

You guys don't have to give up chocolate completely, just have it once in a while and make sure you eat a high cocoa content (80%) or more because it has antioxidents and that's good for you, the higher the content the less the sugar!! So there's still hope for chocoholics like me.

Hi Doc2007,
I eat all types of jellies, toffees, liquorice and chocolate, and also eat the sour jellies and candies.
I've had no problems with eating any of this stuff, luckily as I get cravings for jellies most weeks.
