not to be gross or anything but i had really bad D today and then there was this mucousy stuff with blood, could this be a sign of a flare?
Tanya, 29 year old female with crohns for six years
surgery: colon resection seven years ago 12 inches removed
medications: Pentasa 250mg four caps four -x- a day
doing well right now

Yes, it sure could be. It could also be irritation from so much D. Have you never had blood or mucus before? Either way, keep an eye on it.

I agree with Potatoqwn. Sure sounds like a flare. I'd be on the phone to your GI as soon as you can.

Hi I agree with crohnsDaddy, It sounds like a flare. I would call your GI doctor asap.
Hi, I am teddybearweiser, I am a male.
I was diagnosed with crohns disease when i was admitted to the hospital
in 1992, in Jan of 1993 I was back in the hospital for surgery for my crohns. I had part of my right colon resectioned with ilecolonstomy.
 My GI doctor has me on Asacol, Dicyclomine,Imuran,Celebrex and Remicade. B-12 injection once a month.
My Internest doctor has me on Lisnopril-HTCZ and Folic Acid. Diagnosed
with Osteoarthritis July 2007

Ya i know that is what it sounds like to me to, but so far today nothing? Really weird i have had the blood plenty times before but not the mucus, Ive never really had a flare before so i don't know what it is like, I was diagnosed 7 years ago and that is when i had my resection. I have been doing pretty well since. Thanks for all your help.
