I have been waiting for weeks now to start Remicade.  I think the insurance may be holding up the process.  Do you think if I went to the hospital ER they'd give it to me??
has anyone encountered this problem?  solution??
Thanks for the help.

I get it done in my doctors office so I didn't need a pre-cert from the insurance company.

I am positive that won't give it to you at the er! Have you called your insurance company yourself? What does your gi office say about the hold up?

My insurance took over 6 weeks to approve the treatments the very first time I got them. It's a long process considering the cost of the med. I also get my treatments at the dr office but it's not billed as a regular visit so it had to be preapproved. Hoepfully they will get it done quick. Try giving them a call to see where things are at. GOOD LUCK!

I was admitted to the hospital in Las Vegas and they hadn't even heard of remicade!  Kept me for a week while I lost 20 pounds and sent me home.  Now that I am in Iowa, my doctor was on it.  It took a few weeks with the insurance because it costs almost 5,000.  Needless to say, the insurance put up a fight but it is taken care of now.
