I had a really bad fissure for two years and it has healed with Remicade. However, I still have pain. It feels more like a burning way down inside so I think maybe it's a result of scarring and narrowing. It's also worse somedays than others. I'd bring it up to my GI but I really don't want to invite another exam if it's just something I'm going to have to live with. besides, my alternatives might be surgery which I really don't want since the risk of complications could be high. But, anybody out there suffer from fissures and still have pain after it's gone?
Bad fissure Feb 2005, still have it January 2006. On Pentasa and Imuran 100mg. Some slight swelling and ulceration of terminal ileum. No other symptoms. Now on Remicade!

If you have inflammation in your terminal ileum it might be the source of your pain. Generally inflammation in the TI causes a deep seated pain in the lower right quadrant, but the pain can refer almost anywhere in the abdomen. I haven't had huge issues with peri-anal disease, but hopefully someone will be along who does.
