48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. December '06 had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now taking Glycolax, Ultra Fiber Plus, Florastor, and DHEA. Have become gluten-free diet per naturopath's tests.

Glad to hear you're slowly improving and eating well! No more pred? LUCKY YOU! I'm still kickin butt instead of my butt kickin' me! Got a nasty fungal infection from the Humira....itch, scratch, itch, scratch....
Treating the fungus amoung us with oral anti-fungal and rubbing my scales down with mineral oil laced with tea tree oil after my showers. Sure hope I get rid of it before the weather gets warmer! When you feel like talkin' you'll have to tell me if that stricture was caused by an adhesion! Tell that teen I'm watchin' how well they take care of you and not to make me send out the monkeys!

Hi Broom The small intestine was having a very small opening and the small intestine was dilated. It was the CD that narrowed it. I am having great BM's now it was bad I was sh... the bed at night before surgery not nice. Sorry the fungus got you hope you get it under control. I have to see my GI next week to discuss meds. The other one in the hospital I had is suggesting Imuran for meds. Don't need the monkey's I have been getting the best help ever a year sure makes a difference in a teen's life. Well I quit the ciggies. Chewing the nicorette gum a week now on it and finally feeling like I am doing it. They said it is the best thing a person can do for CD . Sure glad I am doing it so yah I been getting something done. Now waiting for spring so I can get back to gardening won't be long I'll be starting my new seeds. Hope your being good .lol gail

Gail- So sorry about the bed thing, that is so frustrating isn't it! The Imuran is kinda scary but it works well for me. Only side effect I've had is headaches so I take it at night so I'll sleep through them. Took me about 4 months before the Imuran really took hold but the GI had started me on it pre-surgery and I think my CD had progressed too far at that point. Also took me about 4 months post surgery to eat anything green again. Way to go with the cigarettes girl! I haven't tried to quit again, no excuses. Now is a good time to quit for you since you had a hospital stay and I'm sure you're still sleepin' alot too. Don't rush the gardening....it will be there...get well first! I hacked down about 15 azalea bushes in my yard last weekend. Husband loves the things. They are pretty when they bloom (which mine won't this year) since I cut them back. Other than the blooming season they don't do much for me. Just something else to trim. Frost season hasn't passed here yet so it will be a little while before planting starts unless I put in some garlic for the fungus among us!
