Ive been itching for 3 days....curious what would make me itch....its driving me nuts. I have no allergies to stuff so Im so baffled but its driving me nuts.

Does anyone know if any medications would do that that IM on? or maybe tanning bed with the meds? I just got to stop the itching NOW!

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength

Diagnosed with severe Crohn's colitis in May 2005. I deal with daily arthritis ALL over my body, cystic acne, & fibromyaglia. Have taken Imuran, Remicade, TPN, Colozal, Entocort, Flagyl, PamineForte, Cipro, Dicyclomine, Prednisone, Asacol, Prevacid, and the list goes on. Currently on Remicade every 4wks, 20mg Pred, Asacol, 75mg Imuran, etc.

I don't know about the itching, but watch the tanning bed with the Cipro.  Cipro can cause sun sensitivity.

My exact thought - I know I was told to stay out of the sun while on Cipro.  You might want to ask your pharmacist about that.  MB

Itching can be a sign of liver damage, and that is a possible side effect of any of the medications you are taking. The damage is almost always reversible if you catch it early and stop taking the medication that is causing the problem, so I would give your doctor a call promptly. Of course, there are many potential causes for itching, but I suspect that the doctor would at least want you to have liver function tests (simple blood tests) to rule out liver problems.

i have been itching for awhile from remicade we believe and now my liver functions are abnormal and i have to go have a liver biopsy done since my ultrasound came back good.So i would call your doctor and let them know and have them run a metabolic blood panel so they can check your liver enzymes and other issues.I know how frustrating he itching can be it got so bad last summer that i had to take 2 allergy pills a day just to be able to walk outside. We had to keep me on remicade becuase right now that is the only drug that helps me with my crohns.

I itch when I get Dilaudid but I agree with the others that LFTs should probably be checked just to rule out liver issues. Hope you stop itching soon!

The two times I've been on Imuran I developed itching from being in the sun.  I looked up some information on the internet and went to my family doctor.  I had a allergic reaction to the sun.  The more your exposed to the sun or tanning bed it lessens but boy does it suck in the mean time.  I took Benedryl which helped some but you have to kind of wait it out!
