I had my first resection in July 07 and I have about a 7 inch scar down my midline. I am currently 8 weeks pregnant with our second child. I am curious as to how long those of you who have had resections waited before you got pregnant. I am a little concerned about how my stomach is going to handle the inevitable stretching. My incision is completely healed but is still very sensitive if I move the wrong way or strain my stomach. Sometimes I get a kind of burning sensation if I pull it the wrong way. I am overweight and have a little extra room there so I know that it won't be an issue till the end of the pregnancy, but I'm just curious what, if any, issues anyone else has had.

Thanks in advance.

I had a resection in June 2006 and have a 6 inch or so scar about an inch below my belly button. Mine didn't heal all that great - it turned into a keloid. I'm now 27 weeks pregnant with #2 and it's stretched out just fine. I am a little bigger below and above it so I think the baby is just going to have to make do with having that part of my tummy not be as big as she grows but it's been fine. I did have some twinges around it in the first trimester when I first started growing a little bit but nothing now.

Good luck with your pregnancy!
Beth
