What type of prep should I expect tomorrow at the Cleveland Clinic and what is invovled in general?
Symptoms Of Crohn's June of '06 (21 years old 285lbs). Colonoscopy in Jan '07 no sign of Crohn's.
Surgery for a Fistula in April '07, diagnosed suggestive Crohn's in May '07. August '07 small bowel follow
through, diagnosed with Crohn's (23 years old 165lbs). On HUMIRA, Prednisone

You need have clear liquids for 6 hours prior to the CT, and then about an hour before they give you this contrast stuff to drink...about three 12 oz. glasses full. It's not near as bad as a colonoscopy prep, and doesn't taste as bad as the barium. I had terrible diarrhea afterward, but I was having terrible D beforehand, and the CT prep stuff just made it worse! Later I found out that I had Salmonella, so all the D may not have been related to the prep. Good Luck as Cleveland Clinic, and fill us in on how it went.

currently taking Pentasa 2750 mg- 9pills/day and on and off Prednisone for flares

Thanks for the quick response I was hoping no barium but I have been wigging out about it all day.

If you made it through your colonoscopy and small bowel tests, then the CT will be a breeze...try not to wig out!
