A MRI can detect ACTIVE disease. I have had multiple MRIs of various parts of my body and find them quite easy. Usually a radiologist will read your films within aa day or two of the MRI. They then send the report to the doctor that ordered the test. How long it takes for your doctor to give you the report depends on the procedure for giving test results. I would call the ordering doctor's office 3-4 days after the MRI and ask for the reults.
