Just plain miserable. That describes the allergic reaction I am having after taking Humira for 6 months. I have been off of it for 2 months and still have a full-body rash that itches and is sore to the touch. Has anyone else had this reaction to Humira? I am wondering if I will ever stop the itching and red bumps. No relief from dermatologists' creams. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this awful side effect.

I don't know if this will be helpful, young, but when I had my Rem reaction it took about four months to stop feeling itchy, stiff and poisoned.

Have you tried aloe vera gel on the itch? Or taken steroids to aleviate the drug reaction?

I have taken Prednisone 40 mg and tapered off and now I am not on anything. Not even for my Crohn's I am scared that I am going to flare. I have an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic in 6 weeks. I will try the Aloe today. I have some. What alleviated your itching/pain? I am so glad to find this forum. Talking with others who are suffering helps. I have been diagnosed with Chron's since 1980, Wasn't severe then, but has become worse over time. Thanks for answering my post.

young,

have you tried a detox diet? It can help your body get rid of the poison a little faster.

Young, with me I think it was just a matter of time and patience. I got (I think) quite depressed after the Rem reaction, and that probably didn't help my physical symptoms at all.

I hope the aloe gel helps. I know it gave me some relief. Not much, but some.

I have had some terrible rashes after othe potent meds and Tea Tree Oil helped with the itch............if smells awful but at least I could sleep at night.  Also avoid hot baths as that makes the itch worse.  Pat yourself dry after bath or shower, don't rub yourself down with towel or you will be into the scratching mode.

I keep aloe in the frig as the cool soothing effect is good during the day.

Good luck
