hey Friends - I am about to reveal my anonymity here, but, whatever..... below is a link to a piece I wrote about my UC that is published in today's new york times. my hope is that this piece will raise visibility about UC and IBD in general. please circulate the story to as many people as you know so that together we can leverage this opportunity to bring IBD a bit more into the public sphere and make people less afraid to talk about it. hopefully you'll enjoy my piece. -Loren

I linked it for you..........Kitt :-)

Fantastic article, thank you so much for bringing much needed attention to IBD and the tragic way that chronic illness changes a person's quality of life in every conceivable way. Thank you again!

thanks to all of you for your supportive comments. glad it resonated with Crohnies (and not just UC-ers) since we are all in this together. If you want to forward the article to others you know with IBD, or your family/friends, you can send it from the webpage at the NYT, at the link at my original post. together we can educate others.

again, I am so glad you feel I represented you well. that means a lot to me. -Loren

I loved this article. You are a great writer! What a good way to help people to understand what it is we go through- not just the pain and sickness, but the loss of control, the uncertainty, the change in every little routine. I forwarded it on to the Crohn's and IBD group on Facebook and to people in my life who still don't quite get what it's like. THANK YOU!
