Welcome! I had the same questions as smile did. I had a resection in '82 that took my ileum and if I remember right I had urgency for months! It might be time to go to the gi and see what other meds you can try, not all meds work for all CD patients.

Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Good Morning and welcome to HealingWell and the Crohn's forum.  We are so please you found our site.

If your surgery was in 7/2007 you should be doing better IMHO then you are.  If your going to the clinic tomorrow, please stress the amount of pain, D and weight loss you have experienced.  Ask for reasons why this is continuing?

Good luck and take care.  Again a warm welcome.

So sorry that you're having such a hard time. You have such high hopes after surgery, I'm sorry that you haven't been able to get relief from it. I agree with the others, you need to make sure that they understand that you are seriously suffering. Sometimes the test don't show what is going on and more tests will need to be done. You know how you are feeling better than anyone, I hope that you find dr's who will actually listen to you and are willing to keep trying until they find out what is going on.

Hope you get some results from you visit tomorrow. Let us know what the outcome is.

Hi there,

I had the same surgery about 9 yrs ago and was devasted when the D & cramps came back. But a few weeks later my GI suggested i try taking Questran/Cholestyramine to see would it help. I did and it completely stopped the pain & D. It was because i had the valve removed and could no longer deal with bile salts. It tastes disgusting but just mix it with orange juice and it's worth it. So the Questran sorted out everything for me but that's just my experience, if you've had the valve removed then i'd suggest that you mention it to your doc. Everything's worth a try with this awful disease. Good luck....Lila
