Ah, February 29th! It only comes around once every 4 years. I remember as a teen the fun we had on Sadie Hawkins Day! The girls invited the guys to a formal dance and provided the transportation and dinner, plus some form of home-made corsage for the guy. My Sadie Hawkins Day corsage for my guy was made of various vegetables: lettuce, a carrot, a radish ....

ROFLMBO  Sadie Hawkins was "the homeliest gal in the hills" who grew tired of waiting for the fellows to come a courtin'.

I forgot today was the day.............ok gals get out the wash tub for your weekly bath and head to town to ask that guy to marry you.  Yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaa.
Ya all have fun now.

Fer you young'uns, Sadie Hawkins was a character as described by STKitt and was featured in the Li'l Abner comic strip series that ran in local newspapers around the USA for years.

Hey, Kitt, remember the "shmoos"?

Hey, I may be an almost youngun, but I know about Lil Abner -- talk about some awesome social commentary! "What's good for General Bullmoose is Good for teh USA!" We played that one for the High school musical when I was in tenth grade and I was in teh orchestra pit. It was the most fun I ever had performing. Barring all that, though, my Mom had always told me about Lil Abner....
