I am on my 3rd sitz bath in about 6 months! Are they making them even cheaper? They keep breaking on me. Not the hard plastic bin part. (I have about 5 of those!) but the bag keeps ripping so I have no way to hang it. I can't seem to find the bags sold separately. I just run out and buy another sitz bath.  This morning I held it up above my head and my arm was shaking. The bag that broke last month just split right open at the bottom and I had a sitz shower. lol!

I have a nice little collection of sitz baths in a rainbow array of colors. I could run a sitz bath store (not that anyone wants a used sitz bath tongue )

So anyway, does anyone know if you can buy the bags separately? If so, where?

Thanks,

Ginger

Hey there,

I am an Amazon.com lady and as they sponsor our site, I would search with them first.  They are great about finding what you need.

Otherwise a hospital supply company may be a way to go.

Take care

I was going to suggest a hospital supply company, but Kitt beat me too it . I know many places may not have it in stock, but if you call, they may be able to order it for you. I've had to get special tape for my daughter when she was doing sports and the one near me was able to special order it for me and had it the next day.

This may sound crazy but what about using a Plant watering can I have one of those plastic ones with a long nozzle use it only for sitzs baths you can fill with hot water and pour into bath as needed.

Google the company that makes your bath-they may sell the bags on their web site.

Thanks all! I'm just so frustrated that the bags get destroyed and the basin is virtually indestructible plastic. I don't want to be the cause of ruining the environment with my sitz bath supply!

Why are they so flimsy? Are they like those large enema bags?

Well, they are very thin plasticc with 2 holes to hang the bag with. The water gets heavy in the bag and it makes the holes stretch out while the bag is hanging. I don't think I've seen an emema bag.The cc bags that you get meds in at the hospital are stronger!  I don't think sitz baths are made for extended use. sad

Is there any benefit to using a sitz bath over a regular bath tub? I don't get it.

Fizky-the benefits of a sitz bath are less water used and your whole bottom half doesn't get wet. I take at least 3 a day so it's a convenience issue. :-)

I do my own sitz bath. You know that plastic wash basin they give you in the hospital? I just fill that w/the hot water. I do sit in the tub but only because I put the wash basin in the tub in case I filled it too full and I sit my bottom in the wash basin in the tub. I use the shower hose when I need more hot water. Its long enough to just direct the water to the basin. I've also been know to just "drop my drawers", plop my bottom over the edge of the tub and use the shower hose to spray my bottom if I'm in a hurry. Takes more water but .....

The last time I used a "professional" sitz bath was in the hopital for my episiotomies when I had my kids. And that was WAY BACK when if you had insurance you were doomed to staying in the hospital for FIVE days! (Three days if you had no insurance). Those "professional" sitz baths back then consisted of a stainless steel square "tub" on wheels that could be rolled right over the toilet. There was a thermometer on the side to verify the termpature of the water. You just "dropped your drawers", sat in the specified length of time, stood up, dried your bottom, pulled up your drawers and walked away.

Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
