My daughter (17) has been in the hospital since Tuesday.  She has been having a bad flare for 2 1/2 months with alot of bleeding. They did biopsies and tested for CMV virus.  I am very anxious for results.  I ask the nurse if they are in the computer yet and she said yes but she really don't know how to read them very well and she is sure that the Dr will be in in the morning to go over everything.  Shoul I be worried?  I feel like she just didn't want to tell me bad news that is why she would't tell me anything.  When they do biopsies what all are they checking for. I would appreciate any feedback.  I am going to be up worrying all night.

Hi there,
I am sorry your going through all of this.  As a nurse I can tell you that only the physician can give you the biopsy results and most likely the nurse was telling the truth.  Biopsies are run in the lab and usually read by a pathologist, some hospitals even send the tests out.

So please do not let that scare you that she did not give your the results.

Take care and bless you
