I had my follow up appointment this morning to talk about all the adhesion blockages I have been having. Of course, I haven't had one since the doctor sent me the order for the Xrays (nothing showed up on the SBFT, so Xray is the next step, but it needs to be done while I am having the blockage). I have been being really bad for the last week trying to make a blockage happen so that I could get the Xray taken and get on with discussing what the next step is. But no luck! Went to my appointment this morning then drove my daughter 2 hours away to shop for prom dresses. Wouldn't you know it, started the blockage while I was shopping! Or at least I'm 90% sure. So I have to decide, do I go to the ER, which will mean an admit, or hope that I'm still blocked tomorrow so that I can just go and get an Xray. Because of course Xray is closed now! What kind of sicko am I that I hope my blockage continues for another 15 hours!

Can't they order the xray for you in the ER? I don't think I would let this go on for too long, you could really end up hurting yourself more.
Big Hugs to you, hope they figure out whats going on soon.

I called the hospital and as long as I have a doctors order they will do Xrays 24/7. So I went and got my Xray done. My blockages usually resolve in 8 - 12 hours, so we are pretty sure it is adhesions but without documentation, we can't start to figure out a plan. So now I wait for the results. And if it doesn't resolve by tomorrow, I will have to go back and be admitted. But I hate to be admitted for what will end up being 2 or 3 days when the blockage will probably be over by the time they get the paperwork done.

Be careful what you wish for you just may get it!  Its now over 24 hours of blockage, I've never gone this long before, so I guess I can't avoid the hospital for too much longer.  I'm holding out for a couple of more hours but thats it.  I have a call in to my doctor, but he's doing procedures today, so I'm hoping I'll hear from him by the end of office hours, if not its off to the ER.  At this point, I really just want a shot of Dilaudid, even if it means I have to stay over night.

Suzanne you and I have been there and done that with our Crohns for many many years. Sweetie, I think its time you give up the fight and get into the ER. If nothing else you might get some pain relief and maybe they can even get more tests ran to get this repetitive problem taken care of. Please don't sit and wait for the doc, he could get busy and not call till tomorrow (God Forbid). Go in and get some relief you desperately need. (BIG HUGS) Hope to hear back from you after you get this problem taken care of.

God Bless,

I'm going to go, I promise.  But, I'm watching my friends baby and I can't leave until she gets home.  I am going straight to the hospital from here, I'm not even stopping at home!  I know, I'm crazy but I didn't think the blockage would last this long and he's just a little one, so he just eats and sleeps, so I've just been lying on the couch, just like I would at home.  I'm suppose to watch him tomorrow too, but that's not going to happen, I just want to let her finish the day today.

Good luck Zanne!  Hope they figure out what's going on.  Have they ever talked about going in and releasing some of the adhesions.  I know more surgery just creates more adhesions, but maybe they could loosen that one that is causing all the problems.  Keep us posted!

Zanne, Your babysitting too...........my goodness you are one strong person.  You get to the ER, I agree that you need to and you know we are all right here supporting you.  I am so sorry this has happened but hopefully you will come up with a great game plan with your physician.

Bless you sweetie.
Hugs
