Could they make it any more "alien" for lack of a better word! Yuk! But if it works, I'm all for it!

pb, I told you only a few days ago:

**No cross posting on the forums, please**

If it happens again, I'll delete the post.

IMHO we have had a lot of posts re links to experiments  lately.  I would like to caution all members to read this information with an open mind. My goal is to try to keep everyone safe from harm when interacting on this forum.

Bless each of you

Sorry Ivy, but I looked at the forum rules again and could not find where it said no cross posting...if you could find that specific rule and post it here I'd appreciate it...I've done it often in the past and it's never been an issue since it pertains to the forums that I'm posting at so I'm kinda confused about this rule...especially since I cannot find it listed as a no no.

Thanks :)

Interesting article, PB4. I thought it might be about the double balloon endoscopy until I read it. (By the way, there are two facilities in Michigan doing the double balloon endosocopy now - U of M and Henry Ford, according to my gastro).

IMHO - most of us w/ crohns read the crohns board and those with Anxiety read the anxiety forum and those with both read both. If someone finds something on a board not frequented by crohns members and thinks it would be helpful to us crohnies I think they should be allowed to post it here. My interpretation of "no duplicate posts" would be not to post the same thing multiple times on the crohns board. This post is very relevant to those with crohns and I am guessing most of us don't read the IBS board. I think posting from other forums should be ok... especially if we just put a link to that forums post.

The duplicate post rule also applies to posting the exact same post in different forums. If you wish to share something across multiple forums, post it in one forum and link to it in the other forums that you feel it would be pertinent to. This helps to conserve HealingWell resources.

Thank you for your understanding,

I don't get it...how do I link to it in other forums confused I thought that's what I was doing basically.

Besides which, I emailed peter about it and he said it was fine to do what I did...I forwarded the emails from peter to ivy.

OK, pb, if I've done wrong I apologise, but this is what it says in the moderator FAQ:

"The rule about duplicate posts is intended to prevent flooding of the forums with the same post. Sometimes members hit multiple forums with the same identical post. This is considered spamming (not the salesman kind of spam, but rather flooding the forums kind of spam). This is a waste of resources and is not permitted."

Until corrected by Peter, I'll stand by what he's written in the FAQ.

and even more, i love the comment that someone wrote about the article

""""Excuse me, when I said: "Robots should start at the bottom and work their way up," I was talking about society, man."""""
"I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together!" - The Beatles

doesn't that just sound cool when you sing it?

Sorry for the friction, apparently this was posted elsewhre.
Anyway, I agree. Sounds something like you'd be subjected to during an alien abduction!! Kind of creepy in a couple of ways. Of course, it might also prove valuable against many things. Best to kkep an open mind..

Well if you want to see the picture of the actual thing you can veiw it at the IBS board...spasman posted the pic via a link.

It is the weirdest looking thing and creepy to think about it actually being inside you.

btw, pb, thanks so much for being nice about this. It gets very hard for the mods sometimes, to point something out and then have a flame war start all over the forum.

Now I'm off to read about those robots :-)

Oh gosh ivy there are things that just aren't worth getting mad about and this is one of them, it's simply a misunderstanding and of course no hard feelings...

I think it's kinda creepy, of course it's suppose to serve a purpose but like I said (somewhere, I think on the IBS board) the thought of that thing clinging to an inflammed part of the intsetines isn't too appealing.

Imagine seeing that thing sticking out of your poop in the toilet??? It looks kinda big, I'd be concerned about it getting stuck or causing a perforation or tear somewhere in the bowels.

It's almost like it's suppose to be a bad "april fools" joke or something....cuz I don't know any sane crohnie that would opt for that thing over the traditional colonoscopy...I know I wouldn't.

I'm now glad I did not look at the pic, the description of the proceedure itself made me a bit queasy ( hard to do to a crohnie!). Something with legs climbing into my rectum sounds less like something from a Whitley Strieber book & more like something from "Alien"!!
