I've been coming on the site so much lately because I have been getting really easily distracted while I'm studying. I just finished my 25th week of school and I'm getting a little burned out on all the hard sciences. Hearing everyone's stories here just absolutely fascinates me and I'm like a sponge soaking up everyone's stories. There is no doubt in my mind that being a mod here is probably one of the best things I will ever do in preparing for my career. Much more so than trying to memorize a bunch of pathways that I'll instantly forget as soon as I take the exam, for heaven's sake.

I am so addicted that through being diagnosed, undiagnosed, maybe diagnosed, I won't leave! I have gotten to know you all, and have to keep an eye on it all. believe me, Pommom, it only gets worse :)
48 y/o woman.  Diagnosed 4/06 after colonscopy, SBFT, CT-scan all showed crohns. 3 months later, after pred and remicade, all tests showed no crohns. December '06 had adhesions cut through a laparoscopy. Now taking Glycolax, Ultra Fiber Plus, Florastor, and DHEA. Have become gluten-free diet per naturopath's tests.

Well, I had to leave the board for a time this afternoon. It was hard to do. But my nephew got married, so I kinda figured I should go.I actually felt ok today. Thank Goodness. My family will listen to me complain about Crohn's.and all the other ailments. But no one understands it like you guys do. I have had Crohn's for 10 years and have read many things about it. But I still learn more everytime I come here.Thank you all.

I wholeheartedly agree! This forum and all the wonderful people are the only source of comfort and understanding I have since being diagnosed with CD. I come here and read and I no longer feel isolated. Here is the only place where anyone would understand what a panic it is to be down to 3 mega rolls of toilet paper, a can of air freshener, a few nausea and/or pain pills, or to not be near a restroom.

I miss riding my horse (no bathrooms on trails!!), softball (too weak and difficult to run off the ball field to use bathroom), going out with friends (they don't understand and I don't want to talk about how I feel).

I thank you all for the support and camaraderie.

my new gi asked when i saw him for the 1st time if I saw someone or had some support method. I did mention this site to him and not only did he know the site but it is one he suggests. after all I have been thru recently I feel as tho I need to go to counseling. Not only did i have 4 surgeries since 2-07 but I had 5 people from my family pass 2 whom of which I was very close plus I had to put down 1 of my cats and my dog. Just thinking about this all now I cant hold the tears back.
