I bought my dress from a store in Seattle in July; called them with updated measurements two months ago, and just received it today. It's gorgeous but I'm drowning in it! I dropped from a size 4-6 to a 0 since I started school. Can a beaded dress be altered on a med student's budget/schedule? Unfortunately, the maker is 3,000 miles away. Maybe I should just go on prednisone so I can fit in my dress again. HA. That was a bad joke.

Don't joke, Sarita. You never know; it could happen...

*knocks wood*

When's the ceremony? It's nice to know that the dress is gorgeous, though - that's a good start.

Cool Sarita!
I would check with the dress maker and see what her requirements for adjustments are. Can you wait and see? The stress of the wedding might just cause a flare so you might just be back on pred and if all else fails you can tack or clip the dress.

I work at a Bridal store and I've learned that ANYTHING can be altered! It shouldn't be a problem to have the dress taken in at the seams!

Sometimes where you buy your dress will offer alterations and they will "cap" at a certain amount. For instance, you only pay up to $100 for any and all alterations. Good luck!
