I'm at work...I'm sitting in a fire station and it's 2 am. I'm free to be in my bunk sleeping if I like. Incidentally , I do like...I just can't sleep. This isn't specificall crohn's related but the *****ing does relate well in here. I hyper-extended my shoulder blade in my bjj class about a week ago and as a result have been taking prednisone for it again. So even though I'm off of it for my crohn's my Dr. has me taking it briefly for the welling and inflammation of my injury. So , again , here I am awake. :) have a good night all.

Hi firemedic,
It is the pits to not be able to sleep. I dont sleep well, myself...Ouch, on the shoulder pain. Both my rotator cuffs are hurting tonight. I am going to ask the doctor about a cortisone shot this week. How does the remicade work for you. ? I have been taking it for a good while. and I love it. Well, try to get some rest.

I know this might not be easy to do while at work, but when you're home bathing in really hot water with tons of epsom salts can do wonders for your injury...and any time you're having sleep issues, drinking chamomile tea late at night before bed can help you fall asleep without the negative effects like taking a sleeping aid AND it is also a natural anti-inflammatory, for the bowels and I believe anywhere eles in the body (so it might also help your shoulder).

Hope these suggestions help :)

pb4, I read one time that chamomile tea was a mild laxative? have you found this to be true? I wanted to try the tea, because of all the benefits it says it has. Thanks.

Hmm cool thanks for the suggestions. :) And pommom , yes , I've been taking the remicade and it works wonderfully for me. Barely any problems since I started it in August.

I've never heard or read that it was a natural laxative, and it has not given me any issues in that regard what so ever, but here's one link with info...you should avoid drinking it if you have allergies to ragweed, otherwise it's full of benefits...

Just google benefits of chamomile tea to find more links.

PB4 thanks for the information. I read that link and think I am going to the natural store today and see if I can find a tea to try. Will let you know how it goes.
