When this happens to me, it is gas that hasn't moved on down the intestinal tract.  I get this pain very frequently and it stinks!  Sometimes it helps me to lie down, flat on my back, with a heating pad on where hurts the most.  Then I wait, usually I can actually feel the gas moving on through.  Don't know if that's what's going on with you, but that is what it is for me.  Hope you feel better very soon!

Pain in that area, especially if it is a continues pain can be something more than gas pain. Your gall bladder and pancreas are in that area. Only you know how intense your pain is, but you may need to bring this to a doctors attention.
If we would read the secret history of our enemies,we would find in each mans life sorrow and suffering enough to disarm all hostility.

I'm not sure where I read it, probably in this forum - about H Pylori and that is causes pain like being poked with an icepick above your belly button? You may want to search for that thread and see if it sounds like your pain? Just an idea! Forgive me, as I don't know much about it, I just remember thinking it was interesting because of the pain I was having there.

I've experienced pain in that area and I just chalk it up to gas bubbles that don't want to move! I like the heating pad idea, homeschoolmom, that seems to help me too. :) Melissa
30 year old wifey and mom to 3 little girls, 2 dogs, and 2 ratties and working full-time outside of the home...nap anyone?
Suffered with symptoms for 12 years, dx Crohn's-Colitis 11/2007.  Taking Asacol, Omeprazol, Rowasa, Bentyl. Flaring off and on and trying to avoid steriods.  Visited a naturopath (aka angel), got a vitamin B injection and have started taking NF Formula's "RF Plus" with every meal.  Seems to be helping.
