devil   Yes, I am being bad. But I always hear about foods and herbs that "strengthen" immunity.
I know that pharmeceuticals like imuran, methotrexate etcetera can depress the immune system
Are there any NON-DRUGS that WEAKEN the immune system????
Seriously, I really wonder.

There are but they don't weaken it in the right way. Sugar, lack of sleep, stress etc will all weaken your immune system but they all increase flare of AI diseases. You want a carefully suppressed immune system if you have AI. If you want to be sick eat sugar and don't sleep.

I defenitely don't want to eat sugar and not sleep!
I just am always hearing that we need to suppress the immune response with IBD and
wanted to stimulate discussion for interest sake. I was half kidding here.
I just don't get why we need poisons to control the disease!

At school we were taught that any substance that affects the body's function is a drug. So, I'm not sure that you'd really be helping yourself by looking for "alternative" substances to weaken the immune system. Drugs is drugs, I think, and all have their risks and side-effects.

Ok, ok, I give up:)
I was just kdding aroung with this question. I wouldn't really take a drug or herb to mess up my system(it does it by itself)
I think I have spent too much time in the bathroom. I obviously flushed my sense of humor down the toilet!!!
Sorry if this upset anyone, didn't mean to, I am just frustrated and sick lately.
I wont quit my day job.

I don't think you have lost your sense of humour, it just didn't translate when typed.

If I really want to mess myself up I drink milk, it is so healthy and has so many good nutrients, small side-effect that it makes me sick as a dog!

If I didn't have a sense of humour over having this disease I think I would be in a padded cell by now.

I probably should have been put in a padded cell a long time ago...with unlimited diapers of course.

I started seeing a therapist lol for joke :-P
Currently taking prednisone 40mg, Levoxyl 200mcg, Pentasa 500mg tablets 2 tabs 3 times daily, Ranitidine 300mg 1 tablet twice daily, Darvocet as needed for pain, GNC Women's UltraMega Bone Density vitamin, (Just started Remicade 1-31 given along side benadryl and something with a D)
Dr said with my ileum being so severe that the remicade will speed up me needing the surgery because of the scarring. :-(
