I got almost no sleep last night because the chocking feeling is back, it feels like something is stuck in my throat.

I have had this a few times before but never this bad. I feel like I need to swallow so much that my neck hurts and the muscles are sore.

I am thinking of taking something like pepsid tonight to try to help it.

I also had some stomach pain recently and when it went away this started so it makes me wonder if the 2 are related.
Anyone have any suggestions on things I can do, I get it even when I have not eaten for a while and when I have eaten so I am not sure if foods are triggering it.

I have an apt w/ my Dr May 2nd and plan on telling him as well. or should I send a message to his office now? I am miserable.

thanks, Karen

If I were miserable I would call my doctor either to get seen earlier or to get some advice.

Karen I don't think this is something to let wait.  Also, when you contact doctor, please get your thyroid checked out too.  I once had a experience like that and it turned out it was my thyroid.  Just a thought.  Feel better and here's a ((Big Hugs))

You said it all in your last sentence.  Your miserable.  You shouldn't put up with being miserable.  You need to at least call the doctor to see if you can be squeezed in earlier.  At least you will have tried, you owe yourself that much.

I developed an ulcer in my esophogus once, with similar symptoms. It felt like anything I swallowed stopped and stuck right where the ulcer was, then I would feel gagged or choked. Treatment for the ulcer helped it right away. At the time it was blamed on my GERD, but probably the Crohn's was involved and it just wasn't dx'd yet.

I hope you get some relief soon.

I went to the ER with similar feelings. I ended up having GERD, but it felt miserable too. If your miserable go to the ER. You don't need to be feeling this bad. Take care of yourself!

thanks everyone!

My Doctor called and said he is trying to get me in today for an upper endoscopy! Yikes, I don't want to do that.

I am feeling a little better today but still feel some pressure in throat.

I don't know what to do about the endoscopy? I feel better today but I am always weary of a test... I don't want to do it at all :)
