I had my first transfusion on Thursday. Not much has changed except the abdominal pain has decreased. I slept for 4 hours this afternoon. I would like to know how others have felt after the first transfusion?

Hi there, Honestly I didn't have much relief till about 3-6 months, when they adjusted the dose and how often I was receiving treatments. I took Remicade and Methotrexate for almost 3 years. Finally it quit working and now I'm on Humira and doing great. It's cheaper and easier, however I was nervous about changing. I'm glad your Remicade went well. Did they give you Tylenol and Benedryl before the infusion??

It's been a few years for me, but if I remember... I didn't have any side effects and started noticing a little difference by the 3-4 day. but, it was the third infusion before I really felt better and it took a while longer to heal. Enjoy the less pain part! Every little step counts!

I too had my first Remicade infusion (April 8th).  Wednesday, the 16th, I woke up feeling really good.  I thought well maybe I'm having a good day, but I've felt really well since then. No abdominal pain and increased energy.  I almost can't believe the difference!  I go back for my second infusion on Tuesday.  I've heard people say they've felt relief anywhere from a day after the infusion to a few weeks. Good luck and I hope you start feeling the affects soon!
