I am wondering if I can get some advice before my doctors appt

I have been having irregularity issues and abdominal pain since December and it has not been improving.

My symptoms are, abdominal pain (spasms), pressure, constant bloating, distended stomach, constipation for days followed by watery diarrhea.

I have been suffering for months with just XRays and bloodwork and being sent home with laxatives.

I had a barium enema that was inconclusive because I was full of stool (prep did not help clear me out), a normal ultrasound, a normal CT scan and am now being referred to a GI specialist.

I don't know if this is Crohns or Ulcerative Colitus or what it could be, but I'm really suffering.....

What kind of prep did you use? I think a small bowel follow thru might be something you want to think about.

My advice regarding your upcoming appointment is to make an outline of your symptoms, if anything makes the symtpoms worse or better, when these symptoms began, etc. Also, begin making a list of questions now. Write down things you would like to ask the GI as they occur to you. It is very easy to forget what one wants to ask when in such an appointment.

As to what your problem might be, impossible to say until your doctor runs more diagnostic tests. I hope that you get some answers soon so you can get on the road to feeling better!
