A guy that my dad works with has a family member that also has Crohn's. They found an article in Popular Science Magazine that stated there is a "possible" cure in Amsterdam that is being worked on and improved for Crohn's Disease. Has anyone else heard about this? I tried to find the article online, but didn't have any luck.

I DID, however, find an article from 2006 that says Viagra could be a possible healing drug. who knew? here's the article if you're interested: http://www.news-medical.net/?id=16215

I was just wondering if anyone else had heard about articles/new medications on the market or in research for Crohn's. There Has to be SOMETHING that works!!!!!
26 y/o, diagnosed at 25 y/o
Asacol 400mg 3 pills 3x daily
Entocort, 3 pills daily
Upset stomach daily, tired all the time (except when on Prednisone), occasional abdominal pain
Weigh loss, but scared that once I start the Entocort where will be lots of weight gain :(

Viagra was mentioned a few yrs ago, but it seems as though not alot has come from it, as in, it seems it's also a hit and miss and not a "miracle cure" for IBD...havn't heard anything new on the use of viagra for IBD in a long time, since it first came about.

I know scientific america had a piece about crohns, but I have heard nothing about this popular science stuff. I think we just get so frustrated with possible "cures" that it is just to that gurr level...
