Is it just a regular flare-up or could it be something more?

Just... I've been in a lot of pain, and I've been taking pain medicine pretty much constantly...

Most of my stool isn't solid... and when it is, it's like... practically 'second toe'-sized... really tiny... I cramp up a lot... sometimes, I see small bits of red in my stool... I mean, I know I must have hemorroids because of the red on my toilet paper and the burning, itching, and pain...

I've been having bouts of nausea, but no vomitting yet...

And yesterday, when I woke up in the morning... My tummy felt as hard as a rock... and... I'm female... a non-athletic female... It doesn't feel that hard, now, but it's just kind of worrisome... And my tummy has also felt very hot to the touch... even my roommate noticed when she put a hand on my tummy (and I hadn't even mentioned that it felt hot...)

I dunno... maybe I'm just over-worrying... I wish I would stop worrying... I know stress will only make me feel worse. But man, I just want to break down and cry and ask why I had to end up with this disease... and why I have to feel like this...
I think I am being picked on by life, sometimes. But's that okay. Life and I are good buddies... I know life doesn't mean no harm. It just is the way it is. I can accept that.

Hi Celey I know sometimes it is hard to deal with CD. Is your tummy still hot or any sign's of redness? I went to emerg. when I wasn't very good.Sometimes we have days like that and hopefully you"ll get feeling better soon. If you aren't any better soon see your Dr.How long has your pain gone on? I know when I got bad enough I went to the hospital and that was the best thing for me to do. It also helps releave the stress. You could be overworrying but if you have continued bad pain you need to seek med. help.lol gail

Maybe your doc can, but a taut & rigid abdomen like you described is worrisome. If the pain gets worse, I'd start thinking about the ER..

Sincerely,
Matthew

You have a health services on campus right? Even though they are not crohns experts they can take your vitals and feel your abdomen and make sure you are not having an emergency.  I had a flare in college once (before I knew I had crohns) and they were able to give me IV's and anti-naseua meds, etc.

26 Year old married female law student.  Diagnosed w/ CD 3 years ago, IBS for over 10 years before that, which was probably the CD.  I am sort of lactose intollerant too but can handle anything cultured and do well w/ lactose pills and lactaid.  For crohns I am currently on Pentasa 4 pills/4x day and hysociamine prn.  I also have bad acid reflux and have been on PPI's since age 13.  I have been through prilosec, prevacid, and nexium.  Currently I am on Protonix in the morning and Zantac at night.  I alos take a birth control pill to allow some fun in my life.

I go to a community college... They have everything except health services on campus...

I forgot to mention that my tummy has been making lots of gurgly noises lately, too... even when I'm not hungry... They're so loud... plenty of people can hear them...

I've had those same things.  Very loud gurgly stomach, lots of terrible cramping and pain.  3 weeks ago I had a colonscopy and there is inflammation causing a blockage.  Apparently Imuran didn't take care of it.  I had my first Remicade treatment on the 8th and go in tomorrow for my second.  It has helped a lot with the pain and my gurgly stomach is no where near as loud as it was.  It does suck to have this diesease, but try to keep your chin up.  I hope you get some answers and relief when you visit the doc.  Good luck and hang in there.

Well, I'm going to get to see my doctor tomorrow (thank goodness)... I'm going to ask him if I can get some tests done or something... *I just feel so bad, and I certainly don't want this to go on if its not a regular flare-up*

I also recently got my hands on some probiotic stuff... and I'm taking it... and hoping that'll help me, too...
