A quick history...  I was diagnosed back in 1992 with Crohn's. I had three surgeries and has some stuff removed. It has been alot of years since I have had any issues. Now, a year or so ago I have some stuff going on.
I have, at times, sometimes severe -sometimes mild pains ( crampy ), distension, bloating during the day...seems mostly after I eat ( doesnt matter what ). I am miserable due to the bloating. I have pains, like that of horibble gas being "stuck". It just takes my frame of mind and crushes it. All I want to do is lay down, or take a really hot bath. Then, all the issues can fade away, rather quickly. Sometimes it seems after passing gas, or a BM I feel better.
ok, so anyways. My doc did a colonoscopy a long time ago, he didnt find much of anything except a small ulcer. So, we did pred, entocort, mp6 ( different times ).
I still have this happening sometimes. I am no longer on any meds. It may happen sometimes 2 or 3 times a week, sometimes just once a week or sometimes just a handful amonth. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. My diet is fine I dont intake anything that I have had issues with in the past.
Does this sound like a stricture? I asked my doc if I should get an endoscopy just because and he said no.

It sounds like a stricture to me. I kept thinking I was having a stomach ulcer or something. Was always bloated and feeling nauseous until I would eat something. So basically for about a year I self diagnosed myself and was taking over the counter Zantac. Then went to the prescription stuff and things still weren't improving. Turns out I did have a stricture they found on a small bowel follow thru and ended up having another resection due to a stricture at the reconnection site.

So don't give up, ask the doc to order a small bowel follow thru and see if they see anything. Good luck and keep us posted.

What about Celiac Disease? They believe my daughter has this...still waiting for some blood work to come back. They did an EGD with biopsies, and the biopsies came back suspicious. Her main complaint is abd. pain.

Yes that sounds like a stricture. You could certainly request the tests, though confirming that it's a stricture won't necessarily improve the situation. You might want to try eating soft and pureed foods, and avoiding especially raw vegetables, nuts, and fried/heavy meats. That helps me reduce the bloating with my strictures.

I agree that it sounds suspicious of a stricture. In the meantime, until your doctor orders a test, or to help prove your point, try all liquids and see how you tolerate that. If you can do an all liquid diet for several days with no issues, then you would have a clearer picture that it is more likely a stricture. You can do the supplements like ensure and boost, milkshakes, puddings, custards, basically anything that when left at room temp for an hour or so would turn to liquid. If those foods don't cause a problem, then I would insist on some testing. Actually, I would insist on some testing regardless, but that's just me.
