ok, so i am a bit scared guys. i only had one bleeding episode, and that was shortly after my scope/diagnosis so i didn't think much of it. well, i may have done something bad. on sunday i had a migraine that would not quit. i ended up taking 8 advil throughout the day. now, i know that we crohnies aren't supposed to take advil but i was desperate for some relief and honestly, i have taken it for cramps and done fine. my question is, did i break myself? how concerned should i be now that i have been bleeding for 2 days? i also have a lot of mucus right now and this stupid annoying poking pain on my right side. the poking pains come and go along with my upper abdominal pain but it's just been excessively annoying.

i know, you all want to yell at me. well, we live and learn. maybe this isn't related? i think it might be though :'( any help is appreciated. thank yous!

Go get checked right away! So, you know you did something you shouldn't, we all do. But your signs are telling you something is amiss. When you do, mentionn that you had a bad migraine and ask if they can subscribe something for future use, so this doesn't happen again. Sorry no fun huh? Take care, please get checked or at the very least call the doctor on call.

If you're scared you probably should go in.

I had bleeding on and off for 4 years. Because Drs kept passing it off as nothing I just let it go. It took some pretty prolonged bleeding (along with passing clots and mucus) for me to go in and be persistent about being treated. I was also pretty scared and that really pushed me to go in since I knew this wasn't my "normal" bleeding. The point in me saying this is to say that we all know our bodies and if this isn't normal for you then it needs to be looked at.

(I seem to be one of the only people around that can take advil/aspirin/naproxen without issues).
Current:
Dx: Crohn’s Ileitis as of 22/02/08
Rx: Salofalk 4g/day (26/02/08)
6mg Budesonide (for the next 6 weeks as of 04/04/08)

Discontinued meds:
Asacol 2.4g
Pentasa 4g

Hi!  I have had bleeding before, that lead to a blood transfusion.  the bleeding was so severe that I was passing out, of course I am sure you would realize if it was that severe.  Recently though (since July 2007 and still today) I have been having bleeding on and off, I have been going through some rough spots in my family life and chalk it up to the stress.  I have talked to my dr and he really hasn't said anything about it.  I think you should atleast let your Dr know so that he is aware.  Good Luck!

28 Years old, DX at age 15, 2 bowel resections, 2 blood transfusions, hospitalization atleast 3 times a year.

thank you all! i haven't had a bm today but when i do, if i am still finding these bloody mucus nasties i will call my doctor. and i will have to fess up about sunday. i will get this whole "oh yeah, there are a lot of things i can't consume because i have crohn's" thing down one of these days! i mean, it might not be related. i can't seem to get in remission, maybe a week or two at a time but the d never stops. unfortunately the only thing that worked for me was prednisone. and i just refuse :(

thanks indigo! i didn't notice any blood today but sometimes it's hard to tell, ya know?! i do know that the pain in my right side is more present that it normally is. i battled some nausea and pain a few times earlier today. i am hoping it was just a passing thing. *fingers crossed*

hi gail :) sorry to hear about your aches and pains form this dd :/ my stricture was discovered during my scope/diagnosis. not sure if it has gone down at all but i guess he could barely fit the scope through. usually when i go to see him, he presses on my right side and he says he "feels the thickened area". i am still having a lot of those uncomfortable, poking pains in my right side but haven't seen any blood the past 2 days. so i guess that is good and i vow not to take advil again! lesson learned :)
